When I sat down to write my talk for our Planner’s Forum, I thought I’d be sharing lessons about building a business.

What I ended up writing about was people: the planners who answered my calls in year one, the ones who sent referrals before I’d earned them, and the ones who have carried me through wedding weekends, hard seasons, and everything in between.

After years working in the wedding industry, I’m certain of this: the work builds our portfolio, but the relationships build our career. And an industry where planners root for each other is an industry worth belonging to.

Our Planner’s Forum at The St. Regis Atlanta was a day built around conversation, connection, and the relationships that keep this industry moving.

And because a room full of planners deserves a room worth studying, our design partners graciously transformed the space into a working showroom.

The space incorporated bars custom fabricated by Stile | Custom Event Production + Design Forward Rentals, shelves displaying TableMade’s newest collection, TablePlay, new linen releases by Reverie Social, and sculptural floral displays by Pearl & Sky | Heather McMichen.

Great design has a way of guiding inspiration β€” and we’re grateful to this team for creating an experience that turned a day of conversation and industry insight into an opportunity to gain inspiration for future events.

Why not have an es**rt display that doubles as an art gallery? American Impressionist art inspired the design throughout Danielle and Bradley’s wedding, from the invitation suite and menus to the DJ booth wrap and this es**rt display.

It’s a moment that invites your guests to stop, linger, and enjoy being in the moment.

Let’s talk wedding stationery. When I say it sets the tone for your entire event, this is what I mean β€” your invitation suite is the first glimpse guests get of what’s ahead. And when those same colors, illustrations, and details reappear from arrival through cocktail hour and dinner, the whole day feels considered. Those subtle touch points are everything.
