🚨 The workforce crisis is not a talent shortage. It is a systems failure.

We built technology faster than we built pathways. We automated jobs before we reskilled people. We celebrated innovation while quietly leaving entire communities behind.

And then we called it a pipeline problem.

Here is what the data actually says: 87% of executives report a skills gap — yet organizations keep funding training programs with 70–90% knowledge retention failure rates. They keep building programs. The gap keeps growing. That is not a pipeline failure. That is a systems alignment failure. (McKinsey Global Survey)

It is not a pipeline problem. It is an alignment problem — and alignment requires everyone in the room.

I am Dr. Maxine Cain — Founder & CEO of STEM Atlanta and MGC Consulting. I have spent ten years watching this gap grow from the inside. I built the Futurist 2030: Generation G Summit because I ran out of patience for the conversation.

On July 9, 2026, we are fixing that. 👇

The Generation G Summit brings together the leaders who shape hiring, the talent who drives performance, and the technology that multiplies both — in one room, with one mandate: stop diagnosing the problem and start building the solution. www.futurist2030.com

This is not a conference where you collect business cards and go home unchanged.

This is the room where the blueprint gets written.

✅ If you are a corporate leader who is tired of the gap — come close it.
✅ If you are a talent professional who is tired of being overlooked — come claim your seat.
✅ If you are building the future of work — come show us what you have built.

The future does not wait for consensus. It rewards the ones who move.

💬 What is the one thing you wish corporations understood about the talent in this market right now? Drop it in the comments — I read every one.

Dr. Maxine Cain, Founder and President of STEM Atlanta Women, Inc. and OneTen Partner to Connect Black Talent without Four-Year Degrees to Career Opportunities in Atlanta, GA.

ATLANTA, GA, August 2022 -- Dr. Maxine Cain, Founder, and President of STEM Atlanta Women, Inc., a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to enhancing and increasing the talent pipeline in STEM careers globally for women and girls in underrepresented and underserved communities in Atlanta, GA, announced today a new partnership with OneTen, a coalition designed to close the opportunity gap for Black talent in the United States by working with America’s leading executives, companies and talent developers to hire and advance one million Black individuals without four-year degrees into family-sustaining roles.

Dr. Cain will serve as OneTen’s Community Development Lead (CDL) in the Atlanta metro area to support the coalition's on-the-ground efforts to drive employment for Black talent in family-sustaining jobs, provide job seekers with skills training, and work with employers to create new opportunities for Black talent to attain and thrive in careers that do require a four-year degree.

“The partnership with OneTen is a defining moment in time for the city of Atlanta, employers, community partners, and most importantly, the amazing Black talent residing in the metro Atlanta area,” said Dr. Maxine Cain, Founder, and President of STEM Atlanta Women. “My team and I are deeply committed to bringing together educators, talent developers,community-based organizations, community leaders, and some of the largest companies in the world toward a unified mission to build middle skills and create opportunities.”

Dr. Cain, STEM Atlanta, and OneTen plan to empower and support the need for a diverse workforce by placing Black talent into jobs that OneTen coalition companies sorely need as the war for talent continues. By addressing unmet business needs, helping candidates find fulfilling, well-paying employment, and allowing more individuals to transition into careers with family-sustaining wages, inclusive work culture is within reach.

“The demand for diverse, skilled talent has taken on even greater urgency amid the growing skills and labor shortage,” said Maurice Jones, CEO of OneTen. “But we are not only focused on hiring – we are working to transform a system that has long contributed to intergenerational inequity. Together with Dr. Cain and STEM Atlanta Woman, we’re taking action to make a meaningful, measurable, and lasting impact in the Atlanta area for Black talent and create a more equitable society for all.”
