Heads up!!

If you're coming to Atlanta for HDOA 2026 and don't have tickets yet for Sunday, hit me up. Turns out I have two $100 tickets that I'm not going to use.

GOOD SEATS.

1st come, 1st get these tickets.

(....and no, they're not free. Gotta make it clear for folks.)

This show is gonna hit a nerve. Why? Because motive matters.

And when it comes to marriage, many will discover that it didn't end well because it was ill-motivated in the first place.

This Saturday, we'll welcome back TheMarriage Keepers to who are are preparing for their 16th Annual Marriage Retreat.

What do YOU think is a WRONG reason to get married?

I received an invite to join my brother Robb Naka Batts aka The Ear Dr. on his podcast Classical Breakdown Music 101 to discuss two of my favorite subjects in the world:

Islam & Hip-Hop.

For those of you who like your hip-hop served up in the mid-day, pull up on the conversation this Thursday at 11am.

Be Ready For Anything.

I played at a wedding this weekend. Didn't meet the clients until I got there.

They sent me a few requests in advance.
• Teddy Swims
• Morgan Wallen

Me (to myself): Who?

When I pulled up, I was like "OH, I SEE!"

Although my bread and butter is hip-hop, R&B and soul, I always keep a crate of Top 40/Pop records on stand by in case I need it. Came in handy.

Turned the party out. 😉

Confession: I used to be terrified of playing for teen events because I KNEW I had **no idea** what to play for them....even if I received a playlist.

I then started to look at it as a challenge. I eventually adopted the mindset that "a GOOD DJ should be able to play for ANY group".

Recently, I played to a room full of 5th graders....and I had a ball. Why? Because they didn't come to look good and take selfies. They actually came to have FUN.

Had to go back and remember what we were rocking to in the 5th grade:

• Sucker MC's by Run-D.M.C
• Rockit by Herbie Hancock
• Space Cowboy by Jonzun Crew
• Candy Girl by New Edition
