Post 3- Window shopping here is a gallery walk. Artistic and inspiring vignettes force you to stop and admire. The ruins and basilicas are equals in beauty and magnificence. And a quiet Saturday night Casa J.K. Place, Roma with the windows open and one last sunset to sketch the charming rooftops is the perfect end to the perfect family vacation. Liza Bryan Interiors we came, we saw, and we were conquered by the most breathtaking country there is.

Post 2- Thank you University of Georgia Cortona for the tour of the “new” campus. Definitely different from 1998 but still feels the same. Bringing my family back to this place was a dream! Our hike up to the Basilica Di Santa Margherita and then even further to the Fortezza del Girifalco was surreal thanks to the Cortona On The Move photography exhibit among the fortress ruins. Even found Albergo Athens, the monastery we called home, now the stunning Monastero di Cortona | Cronos Retreats. Got gelato at Snoopy and the only thing missing was a sandwich from Molesini grocery. Love this place so much!!! UGA Lamar Dodd School of Art

Post 1- Italy is both enormous and exquisite. The countryside goes on forever, the architecture makes you feel insignificant, walking past centuries like it’s nothing. Then you notice the little things — a chipped tile, a sun-faded shutter, the attention to detail everywhere you look. It’s the details that keep you grounded, even in a place that can feel overwhelming. Both at once, always. I felt this way summer of 1998 when I attended the studies abroad art program at UGA Cortona. That experience affects me still, and I got to return last week with the people I love to that special town behind the ancient walls on a hill in Tuscany.

Happy Memorial Day!🇺🇸
A lakeside bedroom layered in classic red, white, and blue—playful patterns and collected pieces that make this space feel both timeless and relaxed. Most importantly, we’re grateful for all who serve and have served. ❤️🤍💙

Porch-sitting, garden-growing, outdoor-lounging weather has officially arrived in Atlanta—and we couldn’t be happier!🌿⭐️

Inside our November 2019 issue, landscape architect John Howard sited a backyard’s octagonal folly on axis with the home’s library. Recently planted, Howard designed the gardens to look well established. For the potting shed, architect William B. Litchfield drew inspiration from Bunny Mellon’s whimsical greenhouse at Oak Spring Farm in Virginia. Vintage lumber lines the interior walls while exterior lattice screens allow for vines to frame this charming spot.
