Nothing could stop this outdoor wedding ceremony! It may have rained for days before… But we called in the big guns and made sure it stopped in time for this wedding. And I’m so glad it did because this classic ceremony was so special and beautiful-full of flowers, petals and lighting…and of course romance!

There is something that I just love about an outdoor wedding! If I’m being honest, it’s really my favorite. Yes. There is a chance of rain or bad weather. Yes. It’s nature so nothing is ever perfect. But it’s worth it! And of course we always have a beautiful inclement weather plan. But an outdoor wedding will always hold a special place in my heart.

FLOWERS BY YONA IS HIRING A STUDIO/WAREHOUSE MANAGER
to be part of our growing and fun team! This position would be part-time with a minimum of 10 hrs/week up to 25 hrs/week (depending on the week and time of year). No floral design experience necessary (although opportunities to learn are available if interested). This job is for someone who is organized, likes to clean, doesn’t mind hard physical labor (preference for someone who enjoys it), keeps good records, is a self-starter, not afraid to get dirty, flexible with hours/schedule and is willing to drive as part of the job. Preference will go to someone who also wants to be our strike manager at the end of our events (this will mean very late nights during wedding seasons). If you or someone you know fits all this, we want to hear from you!

One of my most memorable weddings was three summers ago at Barnsley Gardens. The florals were all pink and the ceremony was outdoors so we were able to do cool things with lighting and different greenery. The bride had such a cool style that we were really able to reflect in the floral design and aesthetic.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! Being a mom is the best and hardest job I have...but I would not change a thing and I do not take it for granted.

I have not been able to get enough of sweet peas this season. I love how they have the most delicate petals and movement as they dance in my designs. Also they have the sweetest scent. 🥰 What have you been obsessed with this Spring?
Pink, pink and more pink. It’s wedding season and I’m loving it! It feels really good to be back.
When you have a lot of roses, you can have a lot of fun!This was just for me. Sometimes you just need a little playtime. It sure was fun to combine flowers that I bought and flowers that I grew myself. Growing your own flowers and then arranging them is very gratifying.
Every time I make an arrangement there’s a song in my head that goes with it. Or a song to which I’m listening. When I made this, I couldn’t stop humming this song.
I promise to get better at these Reels and bring them to you more. They are new to me! Taking tips if you have any!
I’m in flower heaven! Why? Because spring blooms are popping up everywhere. How can these daffodils not make you smile? Take some time this weekend to stop and smell the flowers...especially if you see some daffodils. Happy weekend!
It’s my five year wedding anniversary to a very special and amazing man. You know, when you first get married you honestly have no idea what’s in store. It all seemed so magical and romantic (I think of the Beatles singing “all you need is love” as I type that). I had no idea of the hard work ahead of me-y’all marriage is hard work. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. But it’s getting through it all together that makes it worth it, long-lasting and successful. I wouldn’t change a thing...because every hurdle, every challenge, and every pandemic (oh wait, just one of those....one really long one) has brought us closer, brought us a family (two amazing children and a dog) and made us stronger. I love my partner in life and am proud to be celebrating five years. I wish for everyone to be lucky enough to have a partner who is as strong, supportive, loving and special as mine. Happy anniversary Jeremy! I love you so much.
Happy Valentine’s Day! We’ve been quiet over here all week because we have been very busy with our Valentine’s Day orders and a special Valentine’s Day elopement today. We will get back to normal posting this week. In the meantime, enjoy today’s bouquet and I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day.
Happy Friday. I thought I would take today to re-introduce myself on here. It’s been a while and we have some new followers. Since I’m a big fan of top 5 lists...here’s one about me:
1. I have the best husband ever. His name is Jeremy and he is the most supportive and loving man...not to mention an amazing, hands-on dad.
2. My two children, Noah and Esty, have taught me the meaning of selfless, unconditional love. Of all the things I have done in my life they are what I am most proud. I love being their Mor (Danish for Mom, pronounced moo-ah...it’s also what I call my mom).
3. My all-time favorite flower is the Tulip. There are so many varieties and colors and I’m honestly obsessed. So obsessed that I’m trying my hand at growing tulips. And then, of course, I have my favorite seasonal flowers...but those change all the time.
4. Since I was a little girl my favorite color has been green. I love it. Purple (all shades and tones) is a close second...but I have learned over the years it’s a very divisive color. You either love it or hate it.
5. I LOVE love! I always have, but I remember falling in love with weddings in May of 2004. I was in Denmark visiting my grandmother and it was the same weekend the Crown Prince married Mary. The whole city was decorated in flowers. I mean floral installations EVERYWHERE. The city was magical! When it was time for the wedding we sat by the tv in my grandma’s apartment and watched one of the most romantic moments I’ve ever seen (and also beautifully decorated). I never knew weddings could be so grand. And now when I look back, I realize how much that influenced what I do - making couples’ special days beautiful and memorable. 📸

Also, I love when photographers have fun with the decor. The bride’s settee was used for a lounge area...but it also made for some awesome photos before the wedding with the bride, groom, and this bridal bouquet!
