Today we're celebrating Tony Conway, CMP, a previous board member and dedicated AID Atlanta community partner, as one of our ! 🎉🎉

Tony has been in the events industry for over four decades. Legendary Events, the full-service special events company he formed in 1997, has a stellar reputation, and continues to be a popular catering, floral décor, event production and design choice for Atlanta’s most prestigious soirees, as well as for internationally renowned clients such as Tyler Perry, Sir Elton John and Oprah Winfrey.

Tony has been involved with AID Atlanta in some capacity since the early 1990's, first joining the AID Atlanta Family as a member of our Board of Directors and served on the Development Committee for around 6 years. This was during a time of great expansion for the agency and Tony played a pivotal role in some of our most memorable fundraising events, such as the Crescendo Ball and Dining by Design. After stepping down from the Board of Directors, Tony remained involved as a major supporter of more recent events, including Atlanta Cotillion and Twisted Broadway.

We are very grateful to Tony for his decades of service and dedication, and we're honored to count him as a member of our AID Atlanta Family!

Today we celebrate National Loving Day - a day to remember the landmark 1967 Supreme Court Decision of Loving vs. Virginia striking down laws banning in*******al marriage in the United States. The perfectly named Mildred and Richard Loving were arrested, convicted and sentenced to prison, just for being a multiracial couple living together as husband and wife. With the help of the ACLU, they appealed their convictions all the way to the US Supreme Court, winning their appeal and paving the way for multiracial couples to marry legally in all 50 states.

53 years later we are still fighting for racial equality and justice. People in Atlanta and all over the world have taken to the streets to raise awareness and demand change. We will continue to support people and organizations like the ACLU and others working to bring equal economic opportunity, equality in healthcare and education, fairness in policing and criminal justice and protection of voting rights for all people of color. Legendary Events stands with our black and brown family in fighting to make these ideals a reality - NOW.

We will also continue to do as we have done for 23 years - help ALL couples celebrate love. And we take today to celebrate one very special couple - Mildred and Richard Loving. Happy Loving Day!!!
