The monks are in my mom’s town of Watkinsville today, and tomorrow they’ll be in my tiny town of Crawford/Lexington.

It was such a unique thing to witness in real life. A moment that feels historical, rare, and humbling. I don’t take lightly that I get to see it two days in a row.

While my faith is firmly rooted in Jesus Christ, and I don’t personally follow the same practices they do, watching them walk for peace in such a broken world deeply moved me.

Scripture speaks often about walking as more than movement.
“He has told you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (Micah 6:8)

Walking is obedience. Walking is humility. Walking is choosing peace when the world chooses chaos.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.” (Matthew 5:9)

As Christians, we should be doing the same. This world is hurting, fractured, and exhausted. Peace doesn’t come from shouting louder or hardening our hearts. Sometimes it comes from showing up, step by step, choosing gentleness, prayer, and perseverance.

“How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.” (Romans 10:15)

What I witnessed was a quiet but powerful display of resilience, discipline, and hope. I pray they encounter safety, peace, and grace as they continue toward D.C., and that all of us remember we are called not just to believe peace, but to walk it out in a broken world.

I told myself I’d wait until Christmas to share this one, but I couldn’t hold it in any longer 🤍✨
This was the perfect wedding to close out my year. Intimate, timeless, and wrapped in the most beautiful Christmas magic. From the soft glow to a love that felt warm and steady like home, every moment felt intentional and full of meaning.

“Christmas isn’t a season, it’s a feeling. And love is the greatest gift of all.” 🎄❤️

This felt like the sweetest reminder of why I do what I do.

The old-fashioned Christmas, with its quiet joys and gentle miracles, never truly goes out of style. 🎄✨

Hot take: documentary photography is having a real moment and honestly it’s about time.

For years the industry chased perfection. Perfect poses. Perfect lighting. Perfectly curated moments that looked beautiful but felt distant. Lately there’s been a shift. Couples don’t want to perform their day anymore. They want to live it.

Documentary photography is rising because people are craving honesty. The in between glances. The nervous hands. The chaos. The laughter. The tears that weren’t planned.

That’s why I love it so much.

It isn’t about controlling the day or manufacturing emotion. It’s about observing. Anticipating. Letting the story unfold as it actually happens.

Years from now the photos that matter won’t be the flawless ones. They’ll be the ones that feel like your memories.

Trends come and go. Truth always lasts.
