This album had me believing I was living in the hood when I was like 15. It was THAT HARD. Need to give this a proper relisten. “As we move thru these evil streets…” this album really showed me the psychological trauma inflicted on black youth in the 90s. It was so damn raw.

In March 1994, Lyor Cohen approached Fredro Starr while he was on the set of "Dangerous Minds" and offered him a million dollars to record a new album, which would become "All We Got Iz Us". It was during this time that Big DS left the group to embark on a solo career. Onyx initially recorded 25 songs for the album, but only 15 made it to the final release, as determined by Jam Master Jay. It marked a significant moment for the group as it was entirely produced by Onyx themselves. Upon its release, "All We Got Iz Us" made its debut on the US Billboard 200 at number 22 and secured the second position on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart, going on to sell over 500,000 copies. 🎙️🔥
