Athens GA - Back in the day,folks would renovate a street or neighborhood one property at a time and didn't depend on big banks and developers to redetermine its character. Bryan St. was once part of a small, working class neighborhood called "Happy Top" and today is an overlooked key to redeveloping the historic Southern Manufacturing Company property. As property owners of a small (1100 sq ft.) employment-based industrial building once home to mill workers in the famously rowdy neighborhood, our family hopes to strike up a new public conversation about this tarnished jewel of a neighborhood.
