About • The Lewis Room

The Lewis Room is one of the southeast's newest performance and event spaces. Until 2018, 131 E. Clayton Street was the showroom and retail space for The Lamar Lewis Shoe Company. In 2019, Tweed Recording, which resides in an adjoining studio space, remodeled the shoe store from its original retail storefront into a masterfully designed and attuned room for concerts, live performances, events, and the spoken word.

Beginning in March of 2020, The Lewis Room will officially open its doors and begin booking shows and ticketed events, including concerts, artist meet & greets, VIP preview shows, music & film industry panels, special event collaborations, and more.

The Lewis Room is a top-tier venue with a capacity ranging from 100 (seated) - 160 (standing), with a first-rate acoustic treatment and superior sound system. Among its many features, The Lewis Room boasts beautiful Oak hardwood floors, an original Ryman Auditorium stained-glass window, a green room with a private patio and a 960 square foot artist lounge, as well as a state-of-the-art network for live tracking and recording in the nearby Tweed Recording studio.
