As a venue owner, I always tell the mothers of the bride: “The day is going to fly by. Make sure you step away and just soak in those little moments with your daughter.”
But actually living your own advice? That is a whole different level of magic.
While I absolutely cherish this photo of us in the bridal suite, the most special moment of the entire day wasn’t captured on film—and that was by choice.
Right before everything started, we took a quiet, private walk through the barn. The very same barn where she grew up and played in the hay. Seeing it transformed into a breathtaking vision of candles and endless flowers... all the planning, the stress, and the years of dreams just came rushing in. We stood there and had a little cry together. Just a mom and her girl, soaking it all in before the beautiful chaos began.
The rest of the day was an absolute whirlwind of laughter and pure joy, but I am so deeply thankful for that one untouched, unscripted moment alone with my girl.
To all the brides and moms out there: protect your quiet moments. They are the ones that stay with you forever.
