I believe carnations are one of the most under appreciated flowers, especially among millennials. We remember the 80’s and 90’s over use of pink, white and red carnations. They got labeled with “dated”, “cheap” and “gas station flowers”.
As a professional florist, I want to challenge that mindset. The industry has been working hard to breed some incredible colors in carnations. One little know requirement for being a florist….Tetris master. Every week, when I get back from the flower market, I feel like my car is a flower clown car. It’s amazing how much I can squeeze in. Every inch is used. Now every inch of our coolers are also getting used.
