The Internet vs Reality of flower farming.
The real is grimy, sweaty, and someone is always stealing the spotlight lol.
There’s no manicure, makeup, or hair styling. Dirt is in all crevices, and daily showers are not optional.
Your back aches, your feet throb, and the hours? Don’t get me started.
Sound dreamy?
To me it is! The air is clean, the sun is warm, and seeing something grow from a seed to bloom is incredible!
Flower bouquets grown locally are so much more than the $20 bouquet. It’s
creating a life to be proud of.

“Purpose over Perfection”
As I am heading into the peak of flower growing season, I’m retraining my mind. As much as I love for everything to look perfect, there is just not enough time in the day to pull every w**d and deadhead every spent flower. There are plants growing beyond belief and others that have died and are still lying in a pile, yet to be picked up.
I’m teaching myself to let go. I’m focusing in on getting great flowers to those who are wanting to share in local flowers and relish what our summer has to offer.
I’m not going to lie. Walking by a bed that really needs w**ded is hard. Someday I’ll catch up on that. Probably this winter😉
P.S. the yarrow are looking fabulous 🎉

Sunday mornings…
Wandering through the garden, making my chore list and a plan for the week.
Seeding and w**ding, cutting and bunching. Fertilizing and bug control, and watering, lots of watering.
Now that Summer weather seems to finally be here, the flower season will kick into high gear.
I’ll have a steady supply of bouquets at Peter Pan Market, and you can always text or message me for any special orders you might have. Every day is a good day for flowers!
Wishing everyone a great Summer with flowers, fun, and lots of laughter! 😎

At The Freckled Fawn Flowers we take our breaks seriously…some more than others.
Today was about cutting and collecting all the bouquet ingredients to get to the second round of Summer subscribers, restock at Peter Pan Market, and special order deliveries tomorrow.
The car will be packed and I’m excited to share the joy of flowers with others💐

It's a rainy day, and I'm not complaining!
The rain is just what we needed, and it's saving me from watering duty.
When the warmth and sun returns, the flowers will be blooming like crazy.
Get ready, subscribers!!
For now, I'm just going to enjoy the break and listen to the rain.

Today I worked on irrigation.
Ya, the good, the bad, and the ugly🤯
Some sections were a dream, some not so much.
“Why don’t you hand water everything?”
Well, Susan (My name is Suzette, so we are not the same), it takes over 3 hours to do so. If I can cut that in half, I’m all for it.
Ain’t nobody got time for that!!
It’s done! It wasn’t pretty, and I may be a little snarky for a few days, but long term, it was a win.
I’ll take it!! 🎉

Sunday mornings are my favorite, especially as the weather warms up.
It’s a morning for taking deep breaths, listening to the birds chirp and the roosters crow.
It’s my time to reflect back on the week’s wins and losses. A time to remember those that I miss and make plans for the days ahead.
This is the time of year that everything goes into overdrive and Sunday mornings are my way to chill, say “thank you” to God, and prepare myself for the next week.
And then I start my day🌸
What are your Sunday rituals?
❤️

Flowers say so much.
They evoke memories of our past, help us celebrate the here and now events, and are there for us as we grieve. There is truly no better way, without words, to say you care.
Have any events in your life coming up? Birth, birthdays, graduations, dance recitals, weddings, anniversaries, thank you, condolences, or just an “I’m thinking of you”.
Message me for a special occasion bouquet and I’ll help celebrate all the important moments 🌸

Even through the rain, plants go in, and it’s a huge benefit of not having to water.
I’m a “one man band, with no singer” in this venture. My husband helps with the big stuff, but the learning,
growing, planting, w**ding, cutting, bouquet making, selling, and delivering is all me.
Am I okay with that? Heck ya! This is my dream, and I’m growing and selling what I can handle alone.
Long hours? Definitely, but not in a bad way. It’s hard to explain, except to say that there are never enough hours in the day to get it all done and tomorrow is always a fresh start. I love that feeling!
Do you have selling competitors? There is more than enough business in our area for selling flowers. I view it a little differently. I am not selling flowers, I’m sharing my dream through flowers. I try to make that show through each bouquet.
What services do you provide?
I have delivered Subscriptions (Spring, Summer, and Fall), sell individual bouquets at local shops, do custom bouquets (message me),DIY bouquet bar flowers, and DIY wedding buckets.
Please reach out if have any questions on any of these services. I’d love to share my flower dream with you❤️

The best part of what I do as a flower grower is share the happiness that flowers bring to my customers. It’s very rewarding.
Today, I was able to work with a great young lady who not only loves getting flowers, but wants to understand what it takes to start them, grow them, and share them. She’s got the bug! She’s excited to research, learn, and find her own way!
I can’t wait to see where she goes with it!!
So happy to help💚🌱🌼💚
