Today, I’m beyond exhausted. I’m running on a Mother’s Day weekend high (Thanks so much☺️) and a list of stuff that needs to be done moving forward.
I wrapped up like an MMA fighter to till some new ground.(Blisters do not work into my plans…ever)
I push mowed inside fenced areas, and amended the new soil.
I planted, watered, and prayed for a great summer harvest. Trust me, prayers help, especially, at my age🙏🏻
It seems things are growing slow so far, so, for that reason, I’m holding off on Peter Pan bouquets until I know I’m giving you my best. I hope everyone understands and I’ll be sure to post when things are looking great!
The support has been phenomenal this year, and can’t wait to share what I have coming!
Stay tuned!!!
Also…some pics from my space.

…And so it begins.
The sunrises we live for in the PNW.
The seedlings stretching and growing, flowering before we know it.
The early morning checks in pjs, bad hair, and a fresh cup of coffee. (I’ll lose this cup somewhere out there soon).
The dahlias are in, sweet peas are climbing, and sunflowers are reaching for the sun.
The workload will triple, and at some point I’ll need reminding that flower farming is fun.
For today, I’ll watch the butterflies dance and the birds soar. I’ll be thankful for the craziness ahead.
Happy Sunday❤️

We’ve been busy at the farm!! We have built better fences to deter our wildlife. We’ve been tilling, planting, weeding, and seeding more plants. W**d whacking and mowing, watering, fertilizing and mapping out the dahlias.
Lordy, we’re tired!!!
We are gearing up for next week, with Teacher’s Week and Mother’s Day, so stay tuned! I’ll have some samples available soon.
Meanwhile, get out there and enjoy the sun!! 😎

Bleeding Heart 💗
It also grows an all white variety and a red & white variety.
It thrives at my house with morning sun and shaded afternoons, blooming in the Spring and lasting between 4-6 weeks.
A great flower to add to your Spring blooming garden.
I’m always looking for non-typical flowers and am amazed at this beauty every year.
What flowers do you wonder about how they came to be?

They say it takes a village, so here’s your chance to let those that keep this world spinning know that you see them.
Their heart, sacrifice, and encouragement to keep us moving forward!
I’d love to help celebrate your special people.
Message me and let’s arrange a gift of flowers to celebrate all they do💐

Not all occasions are happy, but showing someone you are there in a time of grief is just as important.
Flowers are the ultimate tribute showing care and respect.

I’m often asked what plants are resistant to deer.
Where I live is the laboratory for testing!
In my experience, if the deer don’t like it, the elk most certainly will try it🙄
After living in “the wildlife zone” for the last 37 years, these are the plants that can survive deer and elk…

1. Lamb’s Ear
2. Hellebores
3. Catmint
4. Daffodils
5. Foxglove
6. Ornamental Sage
7. Lavender
8. Allium
9. Dusty Miller
10. Bleeding Heart
11. Rosemary
12. Peony
13. Iris
14. Forsythia
15. Pieris
16. Butterfly Bush
17. Bee Balm
There are more, but these are ones that have worked for me. I’m not saying they won’t try them, or rip the whole plant out, but they won’t devour them.
What other plants do you grow that can survive deer and elk?

The last few days have been spent in the trenches.
This truly is March Madness!!
Moving soil, planting, watering, washing, weeding, organizing, and preparing for what’s ahead.
If the time isn’t spent preparing, the flowers just can’t grow the way they should.
Success in any business is the boring, mostly unseen work that helps to create the magic.
I can’t wait to see all the flowers in bloom! 🌸🌼🌸

The latest wet weather (monsoon) has me behind schedule. Celebrating any planting right now.
I’ve been asked if I Fall plant for Spring flowers. The answer is No.I do plant perennials (plants that come back more than one year) that can handle our wet weather, but where I live in the PNW, it’s just way too wet for things to survive. Roots dampen off, basically rotting them.
Let’s hope some dry days are ahead for more planting!! 💐
