We’ve reached that time. 🫛
It’s time to let the Sweet Peas just bloom. While I won’t have anymore to share this year, I am hoping to have lots of seeds for next year.
I’ll just be standing in the rows and taking in all the colors and smells while they last.
So long Sweet Peas🥲

Clatsop County Fair is this next week and the kids need the buyer support at the auction!
With feed prices at an all time high, these kids, while learning great life skills, also need a good price per pound to just break even on their projects. They need your help to create funds for next year’s projects, school clothes, college savings, sports fees, and more.

I’m giving away a Buyers Bouquet as a Thank You to a buyer!
Please Like, Share to your story, and List 3 people whose kids could you a great buyer gift!

I’m also delivering these bouquets on Saturday before the auction. If you’d like to be added to the list, message me for prices! 💐

I’ve been asked recently, “What makes your flower business different than the rest in the area?”
We have some thoughts, but put the question to some repeat customers and this is what the consensus was.

- [ ] Variety and Freshness.
Our flowers spend no more than 48 hours in the cooler before getting to their destination, keeping them fresh and local. We try to grow flowers that make each bouquet different. We incorporate little conversation flowers in bouquets to keep you learning.
- [ ] Stem Length.
We believe that longer stems give extra life to flowers. It gives you a chance to make a fresh cut each time while changing water (every 2-3 days), giving you up to two weeks per bouquet.
- [ ] Drying Ability.
We grow flowers that can be pulled from a fading bouquet and dried for another use. I use statice, poppy pods, drumstick, larkspur, gomphrena and more for this purpose.
- [ ] Communication.
We don’t hound you with emails, but reach out to subscribers and special orders by text, and Instagram and Facebook stories when fresh bouquets are available at Peter Pan Market. We also enjoy posting to give information on flowers (also on Instagram and Facebook).
- [ ] Gratitude for Customers.
We truly appreciate any flower purchases. We all know how expensive life is right now. Flowers fall into the Want, not Need category, but if our flowers can help make yours or your recipients day better, then we all win.

There are more than a few choices for flowers in our area and all growers are working hard. There are always obstacles each year, but buying local helps. Most of us are just putting it back into the community. We volunteer, donate, and try to buy from local shops and stands. I love that❤️

The front porch🩷
This is where the magic starts.
Where I’m covered from the rain, listening to the birds, and creativity can flow.
It’s also where the lists are made, the gardening info books are poured over (because there’s always more to learn), the schedules are done, and coffee is consumed.
As much as I’d love to sit here all day, I don’t. I just linger longer on Sundays😊

Today was Addy’s “First Bouquet Making Day”.
She’s been in the trenches with me. She’s planted, replanted, cut, cleaned, and prepped for today. She is a natural! It’s so nice to share the successes (and failures) with someone who loves flowers as much as I do. She asks great questions, listens to the full answer, and takes it all in.
I told her that the bouquet making is the fun part, the reward for all the days work and knowing they’ll be appreciated by those receiving them.
So, if you get one of Addy’s bouquets, rest assured she put her whole heart into them❤️

My mom used to say, “ If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Anyone who knows me knows I like to tell it as it is. Yes, there is always, always something to be grateful for, but some days it’s just harder to find.

The high heat and then cool, damp weather has seedlings stunted or just not thriving as they should. I’ve replanted one row three times, thrown out many dead plants and replaced, and the slugs are relentless. Early mornings and late nights are spent removing them. I’ve lost a lot of dahlias to rot. I am definitely not alone. In fact, I’ve met some great new people going through the same issues throughout the country.

I have managed to do a couple great events with what I have, and got some great new jobs for flowers this summer.

I’m not here to look for sympathy, but just to show the real, gritty truth. Growing and selling flowers is not all dancing through the posies.
(An image I won’t ever recreate💃)

I know the great summer weather we enjoy on the coast of the PNW will be coming, but if you happen to know Mother Nature, could you remind her to take her meds. She’s stressing me out😂

Today, I’m beyond exhausted. I’m running on a Mother’s Day weekend high (Thanks so much☺️) and a list of stuff that needs to be done moving forward.
I wrapped up like an MMA fighter to till some new ground.(Blisters do not work into my plans…ever)
I push mowed inside fenced areas, and amended the new soil.
I planted, watered, and prayed for a great summer harvest. Trust me, prayers help, especially, at my age🙏🏻
It seems things are growing slow so far, so, for that reason, I’m holding off on Peter Pan bouquets until I know I’m giving you my best. I hope everyone understands and I’ll be sure to post when things are looking great!
The support has been phenomenal this year, and can’t wait to share what I have coming!
Stay tuned!!!
Also…some pics from my space.
