The garden in its current location is entering its ten year anniversary.

This afternoon we started on the grass and buttercup that has decided to take over the strawberry patch. Hopefully now we will get berries in a few weeks.

Here at Wild Horse Gardens it’s an overcast day, but that doesn’t stop us from inviting spring in and playing in the dirt. We are cleaning up the pathways between our garden beds and my husband was kind enough to replace the fence post for the high fence we need to keep the elk away from the Dahlias. A special shout out to my helper daughter, who was kind enough to work out the w**ds so that I could pick them up and lay new bark.

Hello! Who is ready to garden and close enough to Astoria to come and visit?

Next weekend there will be a local dahlia and plant sale/swap. We have a few farms that are coming and are happy to host Finnhill Dahlias, Blackberry Bog, Wild Horse Gardens, and Honeybee Gardens who as promised to bring her fabulous floral bucket lids. There will be some other locals with tubers to swap and sell.

We expect dahlia tubers, lots of seed for flowers and some vegetables, starts and plants, some golden raspberry canes, and maybe even cut flowers.

If you are looking for an excuse to shop more flowers, tell your significant other you want to take a drive through the country and the spot the Dahlia and Plant sale sign on the corner of Market Rd and Hwy 30. Stop in and get your garden fill.

12:30pm to 2:30pm. No early shoppers so pur vendors have time to set up their booths and displays.

Sorry, at this time we don’t have a cultivar list of tubers available at this time.
