This is a long post..........
I have been putting off creating this post for multiple reasons but I need to just rip the bandaid off and announce that I will be closing the event center at the end of this year.
It makes me extremely sad to have to close but unfortunately I was not able to come to an agreement to continue with my landlord when my lease was up in 2020. I was able to however negotiate 1 more year to honor those events I had to reschedule to 2021 due to COVID and that agreement ends December 31,2021.
There is a lot more that I’m sure I could say about the whole situation but that wouldn’t change the fact that I am closing and am having to walk away from a place that was my home away from home since October 2017.
I celebrated my first event in December 2017, first wedding January 20, 2018 and my last wedding will be celebrated October 31, 2021. The last event will be celebrated on December 11,2021. In between all of those days, months and years I have been honored to host some of the BEST parties and celebrations. I have met some of the most creative people who have transformed the event space into something truly magical.
I am going to miss everything about the event center...even cleaning the bathrooms. My family and friends have been there since day 1 and stood by me and supported me through all the sweat and tears and for that I am truly thankful. I had a wonderful crew that truly worked so hard to make sure everything was just right. I’m going to take some time away for a little bit to catch up on some rest and much needed time with my family. This isn’t the last call yet though. I’m going to continue growing the catering side of the business since cooking delicious food and making people happy is my true passion. 🍔 🚙
As far as the event center I will be having a sale some time in mid December to sell most of the event center items. I don’t know what the plan is for the space and honestly do not care. My business survived the pandemic but not the politics of a small town.
Last I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to ALL of my customers!!! If it wasn’t for you Whispering Pines Event Center wouldn’t have been what it was. From baby/bridal showers, birthday parties, graduation parties, company meetings, celebrations of life, weddings, benefits, school award ceremonies; I can keep going , you have allowed me to host it all. For that I am truly appreciative.
