I have been a little quiet and trying to work thru all the emotions of the last few months. Hurricane, losses, daughter getting engaged, birth of a new grandson, deaths of family and friends and some personal health issues has had me on a a rollercoaster. I used to love rollercoasters but now a quiet dinner out with my love and best friend suits me just fine! Happy 40th anniversary to us!

Making funeral flowers is not a regular practice in my studio. As I worked on this celebration of life piece, I kept thinking of the beautiful and colorful life of Wanda Burkhalter. She will be missed by so many!!! I can not imagine the huge weight of sorrow and loss the families in WNC are bearing. I am struggling to just clean up some mud and mess in a basement studio and clear branches out of my garden. My prayers and thoughts for peace and hope are a daily cry of my heart.

When I rebranded (2015) and carried a floral design company into its next season I felt strongly that design principles and seasons of life and rhythms would always be important. Last winter (2024) I felt it was time to pull back serving 12 clients with all our heart and energy with a few corporate events sprinkled in! So now here we are living thru a hurricane. We are safe! We are blessed and my family has big things coming!!! We have a grandson due any day! Our daughter got engaged and life goes on for us. We know many people face such sorrow and grief and have lost loved ones, homes, and business. We truly weep with you. It is a weird mix of sorrow and rejoicing. I can’t get my heart around it and pray for WNC to come forth as a new butterfly burst forth and flies away!’

A gorgeous bride with her besties- the bride’s bouquet was full of lush blooms, greenery and textures. Each maid wore a brass cuff wristlet. We loved working with to deliver and wedding florals!

My blue flower dreams are coming true!!!! This blue ocean chrysanthemum is NOT dyed!!! It is true blue and oh so beautiful. This just made my day and chased the winter blues away!!!

Another prediction for 2024- lots of color! This gown had soft blue- flowing layers that made you think of that clear day when you can see forever! The roses mixed with a variety of blooms and textures appears to float over the gown. Photographer
