Fun Fact: I spent the first 10-12 years of my career identifying as a Wedding Photographer. When I became a mom, my priorities began to shift & when my son went to kindergarten, my weekends became incredibly valuable and I began to shift away from Weddings to focus more on Family Portraiture. While I now specialize in Family Photography including Editorial Maternity and Fine Art Newborn Portrait Photography, I still really LOVE photographing couples in love! 🫶🏻 I'm also REALLY good at it! 😅 This couple wanted their Engagement Portraits to feel Romantic & playful and girl, you know I slayyyyyed this Biltmore Engagement Session like all the way!🤩
I don't shoot too many Weddings these days but I will still take the right wedding when it comes along (a super cool / kind couple with a sweet story (gets me every time!), a gorgeous venue that I want to shoot at OR if I get to spend the day working with my friends / other vendors I love! 🤍

There's something incredibly special about early autumn at Biltmore Estate that often gets overlooked. September offers warm golden evenings, lush green landscapes, beautiful gardens still in bloom, and soft light that photographs beautifully. The trees begin hinting at the season ahead, the crowds are generally lighter than peak leaf season, and the estate has a quieter, more relaxed feel.

This sweet mother / son duo traveled from East Tennessee for their early Autumn Portrait Session at Biltmore Estate! I've had the pleasure of photographing these guys several times over the years and Patricia always nails their wardrobe, it was perfect for an autumn photoshoot at Biltmore! 🫶🏻

If you're planning a fall vacation to Asheville, chances are you've imagined the same breathtaking scene that draws visitors from around the world each October: layers of Blue Ridge Mountains glowing in brilliant shades of crimson, amber, and gold beneath a crisp Carolina sky and today, on my Blog, I'm sharing some of the Best Places to See Fall Color in Asheville!🍁

As someone who was born and raised in Asheville, I've spent my entire life exploring these mountains. Long before I became a professional photographer, weekends were spent hiking hidden trails, chasing waterfalls, and watching the leaves change from overlook after overlook along the Blue Ridge Parkway. Today, after photographing families here for more than 17 years, I still find myself discovering new corners of these mountains to fall in love with each autumn.
