📖Learn about the book:
Camille Perri has cemented herself as a treasured voice in the literary community. Her previous novels earned praise from authors including Emma Straub, J. Courtney Sullivan, and Elisabeth Egan, and received glowing reviews from major outlets such as The New York Times Book Review, NPR, PopSugar, Elle, and the Associated Press.
This summer, Perri returns with SOCIAL ANIMALS, acompulsively readable, whip-smart tale inspired by her own transformation from reluctant pandemic dog owner to unexpected evangelist for the healing power of pets and community at a time when the loneliness epidemic remains in our social consciousness. Set in an affluent Maryland suburb where the local dog park functions as both battlefield and sanctuary we meet Val Caruso, Alex Reed, and June Kennerson.
A funny and sharp social commentary about community, privilege, dog ownership, and the ultimate power of finding your people (and your pets), SOCIAL ANIMALS blends sharp observational humor, warm emotional insight, and a twist-filled mystery as three women—with nothing in common except the dogs they love—find their lives unexpectedly, sometimes disastrously, intertwining. This is the perfect pet-friendly read!
