✨Sydney Jones is an independent artist, singer-songwriter, and producer from New York City. She composes uplifting and empowering songs that often build to anthemic choruses packed with motivational and inspiring messages. Sydney calls her genre “Rhythm & Sunshine”—a vibrant blend centered on feel-good vibrations, rhythmic soulful grooves, and radiant energy that taps into gut instinct, self-transformation, spontaneity, and expressing our purest essence. Her music weaves themes of deep connectedness with nature, boundless possibility, and the power of staying grounded in the present moment. She continues to share high-vibrational energy through acoustic gigs around Asbury Park and Highlands, NJ, and performances with the blues-infused rock band Sweet Lou & The River Rats for electrifying shows that keep her artistry evolving and connecting with new audiences.

Sydney is actively expanding her catalog through collaborations and placements, with several songs featured in the lounge and coffeehouse scenes of the iconic soap opera The Young and the Restless via her sync licensing team. She’s pursuing a degree in Songwriting and Music Production from Berklee College of Music, where she’s honed her skills in writing specifically for TV, film, and advertising. Collaboration ignites her spirit—and at her core, she is driven to spread love and light, crafting music that uplifts listeners and creates a lasting, positive impact.✨

📖Learn about the book:

Explore the Shore on the Silver Screen!

From the boardwalk to the bay, the Jersey Shore boasts a rich but somewhat overlooked history of filmmaking along its 130 miles of beautiful coastline.

Atlantic City, the Garden State’s most iconic town, has been featured in dozens of critically acclaimed films, including The King of Marvin Gardens (1972), Atlantic City (1980), and Desperately Seeking Susan (1985). Asbury Park, though largely known for its music scene, has graced the screen in numerous films, music videos, and television shows set and produced within the city’s mere 1.61 square miles of land and water, including The Wrestler (2008), I Saw the TV Glow (2024), and Deliver Me from Nowhere (2025). Cinematic gems like Coyote Ugly (2000), Amityville Horror (1979), A Complete Unknown (2024), and many others were produced on location from South Amboy to Cape May. And of course, there is Kevin Smith, the Red Bank native whose cinematic love letters to his home state helped change the face of independent film.

Marci Mazzarotto profiles more than 140 films, spanning 110 years, along with sundry TV shows and music videos that contribute to the richness of Jersey Shore’s film history.

✍🏼Learn about the author:

Marci Mazzarotto is an Associate Professor and Department Chair of Communication at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, New Jersey. She holds a PhD from the University of Central Florida in Orlando and an MFA from Asbury University in Kentucky.
