This is me — today.

Yesterday was National Pajama Day, which honestly should be a holiday every day. But even one day like that reminds me how much I value this freedom.

For 13 years in the corporate world, I was told exactly what to wear — suits, hose, heels (with required heights!), no visible tattoos, no bold nail colors…you get the idea. And now, for the past 8 years, I get to show up however I want.

Some days I still can’t believe I head to client meetings in a sundress, jean jacket, and sneakers — or even jeans (gasp!). And working from home? Forget it. Pajamas, yoga pants, sweatpants — it’s all fair game.

Don’t worry — I still shower and put on makeup. I’m not a monster! 😉 And yes, if I leave the house, I usually put on real pants.

But this picture? This is me today — two Zooms, a million emails, calls, details to finalize… and as comfy as possible in my PJs! 🤗

💭 She had a big imagination. She had no idea what she was building. 💭

As we begin Women’s History Month, if I could go back and talk to the little girl with the big imagination — the one who was always dreaming up ideas and planning things before she even knew that was a skill — I’d tell her…

🌟 You’re more capable than you think you are.

🌟 Stop waiting until you feel “ready.” You won’t. And that’s okay.

🌟 Your instincts are usually right — trust them sooner.

🌟 There will be moments you feel like you’re faking it. You’re not. You’re learning. You’re stretching. You’re becoming.

Like the first time a client asks you for a contract and you have absolutely no idea how to write one — so you figure it out.
Or the nights you wake up at 2 a.m. because you suddenly remember one tiny detail you forgot during the day.

🌟 That’s not incompetence. That’s care.

🌟 The doubt doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you care deeply about what you’re building.

🌟 And that voice in your head that whispers, “Who do you think you are?” — it doesn’t disappear overnight. But it does get quieter every time you show up anyway.

I’d tell her that the big imagination she has? One day it becomes vision. And that vision becomes something real.

She was never an imposter. She was just growing.

To the women building something right now — keep going! You won’t believe where you end up, and the journey is pretty amazing too! ✨

Okay friends, I need some recommendations…. What shoes are you wearing on days you need to be on your feet all day? 👠👟

I’ve been a Rothy’s girl for several years now, and they just weren’t doing it for me during my last conference.

And no, I don’t wear my HOT PINK Doc Martens onsite, but that would definitely make a statement! 💖

As one should, I ate and drank my way through New Orleans last week! From orange wine and Baked Alaska to beignets, Scalibut (yes, that’s a combo of scallops and halibut, and it’s delish!) and fin wings, it was truly a treat for the senses. It’s too bad this event crew isn’t more fun… I’m not sure I would have made it if they were! 😉😆

Seriously though, I love everything about what I do. One of the absolute best perks is the people I get to work with. I love this team, and it’s such a blessing and a joy to get to hang with them for a few days.💜💛💚

💜💛💚 A conference in New Orleans? Yes, please! So thrilled to be back as the Event Planner for the BIMS Annual Conference for SIIA at the Ritz Carlton New Orleans this year.

✨ Feeling incredibly fortunate to work with such an amazing team of event professionals. This group truly shows up for one another—stepping in, supporting each other, and making the entire process a joy.

I’ve been fortunate enough to work with SIIA for eight years now, and it still blows my mind. They were my first “big” client, and I remember jumping for joy (and maybe panicking a little) when I signed that contract. It meant so much to me at the time — and honestly, it still does.

Eight years later, I’ve made some good friends and gained invaluable experience along the way. Michelle Garvis, Marketing Director, joined the journey three years ago, and we haven’t looked back since. She’s such an integral part of an amazing on-site team.
