Lubber Run Amphitheater

Lubber Run Amphitheater FREE performances running from June into August. Fridays and Saturdays at 8, Sundays at 11. "All the world's a stage, and Lubber Run is ours."

Arlington's cherished outdoor performance space will once again play host to great shows this summer. The Lubber Run Amphitheater Foundation was created in 2011 with donations to ensure that the amphitheater would continue to exist. We work alongside Arlington County Cultural Affairs to funding various activities and shows over the years. This year, 2022, we invested in the following:

-A grant to

the 3 theater groups to pay for the royalty fees for to be
able to perform Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat
-The design and printing of the Guitar Fan give-away
-The ice cream social opening night for Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dream Coat (early August)

From 2011-2021 LRAF funded:

-The 2019 50th year celebration
-A $100 appreciation stipend gifted to all 25 performers from 2019 to assist them during the COVID shut-down of 2020
-Multiple performances, specifically shows for kids, and co-funded various evening performances
-Many Ice cream socials
-The children's clay art workshop after the LRAF-funded animal show including free pizza
-Guitar/schedule fans most years since 2011

Despite rain, heat and smoke which resulted in disappointing cancellations, the Lubber Run Amphitheater again delivered many memorable performances on June, July and August evenings and Sunday mornings in the 2026 season. The season kicked off on June 6 with “The Voice” contestant and DMV blues diva Carly Harvey, who performed several stunning songs of the late Amy Winehouse, including “Back to Black”. The Lubber Run Amphitheater Foundation also hosted free ice cream treats on Opening NIght to the delight of attendees. The Rumba Club’s driving beat brought dozens out to dance to the Amphitheater “mosh pit”. The Arlington Philharmonic, led by Musical Director and Conductor A. Scott Wood, included a stirring rendition of “Hymn to the Fallen” from “Saving Private Ryan”. The Grandsons celebrated their 40th Anniversary at the Amphitheater with amazing rock, reggae and folk tunes. A Simon and Garfunkel Tribute, brought to us by Newmyer Flyer Productions, delivered classic songs from the 1960s and 70s. The ever-popular King Soul performed several rollicking rhythm and blues classics. The 19th Street Band played several amazing numbers including the Beatles classic “Two of Us”. Arlington’s own Valeria Stewart graced the audience with Argentinian and roots rock songs from her newest album. Capitol Blend and Vox Pop harmonized with stunning a Capella numbers. Poet and singer Rose Moraes brought to the stage her soul of Brazilian music. The season concluded with a Saturday performance by the Pirog Brothers and Friends with some hard driving 1950’s rock numbers, including Buddy Holly’s classic “Peggy Sue” and a wonderful Sunday performance by STEMusic, with songs and lessons about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). Lubber Run Amphitheater Foundation volunteers were at each performance welcoming and assisting attendees, supporting county staff, providing guitar fans to cool attendees down on warm evenings, answering questions and providing updates on all performances on social media, including Facebook and Instagram where you can now see video clips from many of this past summer’s performances. If you would like more information about the Lubber Run Amphitheater Foundation or to support its work with a tax-deductible contribution, please visit lraf.betterworld.org The 2027 Lubber Run Amphitheater Concert Series is expected to kick off early next June.
