Not everyone at your event needs to participate.
That might actually be a good sign.
Look around a busy casino table and you'll usually see two experiences happening at once.
The people playing.
And the people standing behind them, watching, reacting, laughing and waiting to jump in.
For planners, that's worth designing for.
An activation shouldn't become dead space the moment every seat is occupied. The strongest experiences can entertain beyond their physical capacity.
A blackjack table might seat a handful of guests while twice as many are engaged with what's happening around it.
When you're evaluating an event activation, don't only ask:
How many people can use it?
Ask:
How many people can it involve?
Those are two very different numbers.
