This week I got the opportunity to set up a romantic lakeside picnic for a couple’s 25th anniversary! They were supposed to be in Italy but due to COVID-19, they are home. When the wife called me and shared her ideas with me she said “I have no expectations. You know, when life gives you lemons you just make lemonade.” Her husband has been very busy in this time and she took it upon herself to plan the evening. Her attitude about it all was amazing and it was simply beautiful to witness. So many times we are caught up in the world’s views of how anniversaries should be and this definitely wasn’t Italy but I’m sure it was an evening like none other that probably wouldn’t have otherwise happened with the hustle and bustle of everyday and I am sure they will always remember it! They walked up to a beautiful set up, had a glass of wine, a steak dinner, an anniversary cake and they even enjoyed a walk by the lake! I was so honored to be a part of this! I asked her what wisdom they would pass on to another marriage and she said “Just let it go. You don’t need to be right about everything.”
