Oh my heart… 💔

Today we lost James Van Der Beek, and I’m honestly just so sad.

We had the chance to meet him during an onsite visit at Waco Surf, and let me tell you… he was one of the kindest celebrities I’ve ever encountered — right up there with Snoop Dogg (and that’s saying something!).

I’m not someone who usually asks for photos. I try to respect people’s space. But he was one of my favorites growing up, and I thought… “You know what? I’m just going to ask.”

He smiled and said, “Absolutely 👍🏻” without hesitation.

No ego.
No rush.
Just genuinely kind.

And I can’t help but think about one of his most iconic lines from Varsity Blues:

“I don’t want your life.”

A line that stuck with so many of us — about choosing your own path and standing firm in who you are.

In this business, we cross paths with all kinds of people, and the ones who treat everyone with warmth — crew, staff, vendors — those are the ones you never forget.

Praying for his family and everyone who loved him. The world feels a little dimmer today.
