Champions of the 2025 SJK Outdoor Coed League were crowned last night. In Oberliga, Peter Cech Yoself finished the season with 7 wins and 1 tie; in Mittelliga, KitchenAid United ended their campaign at 8-0, and in Unterliga, Misssion Impossible also finished with an 8-0 record.

We hope to see everyone for Sommerfest tomorrow. Games start at 10am. We will have a Kickers Open team and a Kickers coed team. Let's hope that we can hand out a bottle of German schnapps to the winners this year instead of the usual slivowitz! Vicky, Simon, and Hans are busy right now making some great German food, and David Harris will be slinging drinks all day tomorrow! Wear your Kickers' gear and support your club on what should be a beautiful day for soccer.

Open play on SJK Members' Night (Thursdays) is moving outdoors and is open to the public.

Time: 6:30 pm - ?

Location: Kickers' Outdoor West Fields (7 v 7 short fields)

Cost: Free to ALL (while outdoors)

Color(s): Bring a blue and white shirt so we can easily break up into pickup teams

Skill Level: Open to ALL! The purpose is to create an environment where everyone can grow and develop as players (AND have fun!)

The Kickers is a fantastic community with excellent facilities, which include a club room and bar. We feature BSL games on Thursdays at 7:00 p.m., so after drop-in play, everyone is welcome to enjoy a snack and beverage and cheer on their favorite team.

Both SJK teams opened the 2025 Blossomland Soccer League with victories. SJK Premier defeated South Bend Hop Station on Thursday, 4-0. SJK Blau were victorious over Pathfinders on Sunday, 3-1. Premier and Blau will face each other this Thursday at 7pm on the Arden Field. The club will be open for drinks and snacks at 6:30pm. The public is invited, and there is no admission fee.

CAN YOU GUESS THE YEAR?

INDOOR LEAGUE - The St. Joe Kickers are the champions of the inaugural season of the St. Joe Kickers Adult Indoor Soccer League. The Kickers finished with a record of 6-1-1 and outscored their opponents 81-30 over the course of the season. Their only defeat came at the hands of the St. Joseph High School team. The highlight of the season was defeating Whirlpool United --- a team which the Kickers had tied 4-4 in their first meeting.

After downing the Old Boys 12-4 in the final match, the Kickers were able to claim their first indoor championship since 1990. Five teams and approximately 55 players competed on Wednesday evenings during the winter. Nick Lesch and Ian Girvan coached the Kickers.

This was the first attempt at hosting organized adult soccer at the Kickers Club since the late 1980’s. A special thanks to Randy Collier and Dieter Milbrandt who opened the club on game nights and helped provide the gemuetlichkeit for which the Kickers are so well known.

Thanks to Dieter Milbrandt for sharing this wonderful memento. Nineteen seventy-five set the table for the four straight titles won by the Senior team. Many of the players in this photo went on to play integral parts on those Western Michigan Soccer League championship teams.
