One of my favorite parts of teaching line dancing actually has very little to do with the dancing.....let me explain!!!
Last night at The Club, I met a couple who were brand new to our lessons. They found themselves a nice, safe spot toward the back of the room… which obviously meant I promptly invited them to come front and center!! 😂
During one of our breaks, I got a chance to talk with them and learned that it was actually their 15th wedding anniversary! ❤️
She had planned their night out but hadn't told him what they were doing. She simply borrowed a pair of boots from their son, handed them to her husband, and apparently, he was just along for the adventure. No questions asked!!!😂
And I LOVE that.
They told me about some of the other things they'd done to celebrate that day, we chatted throughout the night, and by the end they both told me they'd had a great time and planned to come back.
These are the moments I love!!
Line dancing gives me the opportunity to meet people I probably never would have met otherwise. I get to hear little pieces of their stories, watch people try something they might not normally try, celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, and sometimes get to be just a tiny part of a memory they're making together.
Other times, it's simply chatting with someone who had a tough day and needed to get out of the house, decompress, or just have a little fun.
Those little connections are one of the very best parts of what I get to do. ❤️
Last night, line dancing got to be part of 15 years of marriage!
Happy Anniversary to these two! I'm so glad a little line dancing became part of your celebration!
