We at The Arab Tribune are saddened to learn of the death of our good friend, Ronny Shumate.
County Attorney Clint Maze sent out the following:

Dear Marshall County Elected Officials and Employees,

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of Commissioner Ronny Shumate this evening. Commissioner Shumate was a dedicated public servant whose commitment and contributions have left a lasting impact on Marshall County, the City of Arab, and the Huntsville Police Department.
