How it ended…
These aren’t just flowers, they are a tribute to one of the finest Hokies I’ve ever known. John T, who I always considered my second Dad, and I always shared a love of all things agriculture, especially flowers and plants. When I found out he had gone to Heaven, I wanted to find some way to honor him with flowers. It was even more special to find these exceptionally beautiful locally grown ones from a church friend.
First thing Friday morning, I headed to pick up the flowers. I came back and cut some flowers from my yard and on my way his house, I stopped on the dirt road to clip a few things off the side of the road. I took them to his house to get crafty and harvested some additional materials from his yard. He loved making floral arrangements too.
The results can be seen in pictures, lots of bright colors, textures and different varieties of flowers that were scattered throughout his house for friends and family to enjoy. I think he would have loved them and hope they brought a smile to people’s faces when they saw them.
