meet ashley
When it came to finding my passion, it was pretty simple, although it didn't present itself that way. So how did I get here? Well let me take you down memory lane...
My husband and I got married in Mystic, Ct on October 5th, 2013. The day after we jetted off to Tahiti, which still to this day was the best vacation we have experienced. Knowing the chances we'd never return to such a magical paradise I wanted to capture EVERYTHING. We bought a water proof point and shoot camera which took both photo and video... and lets just say I barely turned it off. 2000 video clips and 10 hours later I had made our 2 hour honeymoon adventure video. I was hooked.
Picking up the camera and filming lifes' moments really made me think about what I wanted to do with my new found skills. Little would I have thought back then I would find even more enjoyment in capturing and helping craft stories of a couple's love for one another. Being able to meet new people and share one of the happiest days with the bride, groom and their family and friends has been priceless.

They say rain is lucky on your wedding day, I think it may be even luckier when it finishes up with a rainbow!

Today is Joe Pilatesβ birthday. Though he passed away in 1967, his method of physical & mental conditioning lives on today. He created a method, not random exercises, and you can see that on display in these photos.
On the Reformer Short Box, Renee is doing Round Back. On the middle Reformer, Caraline is doing Round Back in the Stomach Massage Series. Amanda is demonstrating the starting position of the Mat exercises Rolling Like a Ball (never to be done on the Reformer but it makes for a photo that relays the point). The point being that the Pilates Method is masterful. It intertwines concepts from exercise to exercise, from Mat to Apparatus.
You can see in each of these photos that Joe Pilates has us working with a similar challenge of finding a universal, lifted round back, supported by the Pilates powerhouse. Each exercise challenges that concept in a different way, which allows us more application to every day life tasks. Happy birthday Joe, your work is genius.

Who says you can't be silly? We take our Pilates work very seriously, but we also like to have fun at the studio, too!
After all, "Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness."

Don't worry, Amanda was not injured during the capturing of this photo.
