In the beginning...

Known primarily for his hand-welded dragons fantastically detailed and beautifully finished, David Graham Spurlock began in the early 1970's welding custom motorcycles. However, his attention soon turned to creating "wearable" art and sculpture.

The Maryland Renaissance Festival has been home to The Brass Dragon, Inc. since 1994. Prior locations include Wheaton, Maryland; Key West, Florida; Beach Haven, New Jersey and the Renaissance Festival in Tuxedo, New York.

From mid August through October of each year, you will find all of David's and Carol's creations on display and available for purchase at the Maryland Renaissance Festival in Crownsville, Maryland. Only a few miles from historic Annapolis, the Maryland Renaissance Festival provides medieval festivities, frolic and fun.

David's works of art include intricate dragon sculptures, often mounted on exquisite crystals, an array of unique suncatchers and beautiful, flowing jewelry. His creations are worn and collected worldwide with many people adding his "one-of-a- kind" pieces to their collection year after year. The joy of owning one of David's works of art is surpassed only by the joy he experiences in creating them.
