✨🌈 GLOW PLAYGROUP = TODDLER RAVE 🌈✨

Our glow-themed preschool playgroup was everything we hoped it would be and more!

The lights went down, the glow sticks came out, and suddenly our studio transformed into what can only be described as a toddler rave. 😂💃🕺

There was glowing sensory play, neon art, dancing, exploring, giggling, and plenty of little feet running from station to station discovering all the glowing surprises. Some children carefully investigated every glowing object, while others created a dance floor immediately and never looked back.

Our favorite part? Watching the children experience pure joy through play. No expectations, no pressure—just curiosity, movement, creativity, and connection.

These are the moments that make playgroup so special: the spontaneous dance parties, the delighted squeals when something lights up, and the friendships that form while exploring together.

Open-ended Creativity Play Sensory Summer Fun

🧶✨ 96 Kindergarteners. 4 Classes. 1 Giant, Gorgeous Weaving Project. ✨🧶

This week I had the privilege of spending the day with the kindergarteners at Cape St. Claire Elementary, exploring the art of weaving.

Each child created their own unique weaving to take home, carefully choosing ribbons, yarns, fabrics, and textures to make something completely their own. The concentration, creativity, and pride on their faces was incredible to see.

Then we took things one step further.

All four kindergarten classes worked together on a large-scale collaborative weaving installation, transforming an ordinary structure into a colorful masterpiece. One by one, 96 children added their own ribbon, fabric strip, or piece of yarn—creating something that no single child could have made alone.

The finished piece is a beautiful reminder that every contribution matters. Each strand tells a story, and together they created something truly extraordinary.

Weaving isn't just art—it's problem-solving, fine motor practice, perseverance, creativity, and community building all woven together.

Thank you to the amazing students and teachers for inviting me into your classrooms. Watching this project grow throughout the day was pure magic. 💛

Hi, I'm April. 👋

If you're new here, I wanted to introduce myself and share a little bit about why I do what I do.

I'm a mom of three amazing kids, two of whom are on the autism spectrum. When they were little, I often felt trapped at home. Between eloping, sensory processing challenges, awkward social interactions, and unexpected outbursts, finding places where we truly fit in felt nearly impossible.

I wanted my children to have the freedom to explore, play, and learn safely. I wanted to keep up with our neurotypical friends and playgroups. But I was also learning to embrace and celebrate the journey we were on, even when it looked different than I had imagined.

There was grief in those early years. But there was also tremendous growth, joy, and discovery.

Today, those littles are bigs, and creating the kind of space I once desperately needed has become my dream job.

Each week, I have the privilege of welcoming children and caregivers to playgroups where everyone is invited, everyone belongs, and everyone is celebrated. I pour my heart into designing activities that delight, challenge, and inspire curiosity while encouraging messy exploration, learning through play, creativity, and connection.

Just as importantly, I hope these gatherings give moms, dads, grandparents, and caregivers a chance to build the community we all need.

Whether your child is neurodivergent, neurotypical, somewhere in between, or you're simply looking for a welcoming place to connect and play, I'm so glad you're here.

💧🐸 This week at playgroup, we dove into the world of Pond Life 🌿

With shades of blue + green all around us, the kids explored frogs, turtles, ducks, water play, sensory invitations, and hands-on discovery inspired by life around the pond 💛

And this week was extra exciting because we debuted TWO new favorite pieces for our play space ✨

The kids absolutely loved exploring our new wooden conveyor belt from ExploreNook — turning cranks, transporting materials, experimenting with movement, and working together through imaginative STEM play 🌈

We also introduced our new Sensory System Table from Guidecraft, which quickly became the center of scooping, pouring, sorting, splashing, and collaborative sensory exploration 💧

What may have looked like “just play” was actually full of:

✨ early engineering concepts
✨ teamwork
✨ creativity + experimentation

We love creating spaces where children can freely explore, investigate, and learn through hands-on play 💛
