Ballroom Dance Club at the University of Michigan Follow us for reminders & updates! Ballroom dancing includes partner dances such as ChaCha and Swing as well as the traditional Waltz and Tango.

From beginner classes for those with no experience & two left feet, to our advanced lesson series, we host lessons followed by open dance socials for everyone of all levels! Everyone is welcome, regardless of age. No university affiliation is required—just a desire to have fun! We offer classes for all levels of dancers. dvanced lesson series, everyone is dancing. No partner is required! During lessons, dancers are encouraged to rotate partners to accelerate the process of learning to lead and follow. We dance almost every Sunday and you do not have to be a student to join. We look forward to dancing with you!

Thank you everyone who came to our latest samba dance lesson taught by Michigan Ballroom Dance Team Alums Jasper and Alison!

They will be teaching again next Sunday at the Michigan Union Ballroom from 6-7pm. We will have an open dance following this. See you there!

✨About our instructors✨
Alison & Jasper started dancing with the University of Michigan’s Ballroom Dance Team as students. After graduating, they continued to dance and were finalists in multiple events. This includes becoming finalists at the U.S. National Dancesport Championship in Utah and 2-time USA Dance National amateur 9-dance champions.

Join us for the next couple weeks for lessons in international waltz with Ilkin H., an alum of the Michigan Ballroom Dance Team, class of 2004! 💃

Ilkin H., a specialist in standard, combines technical excellence with a genuine passion for helping others learn and grow. A longtime competitor and accomplished performer, she has earned numerous titles in both pre-championship and senior divisions, including 3rd place in the U.S. Dance National Championships in 2015. 🏆
