2026: The Year of the Bold. 🎞️✨

Some stories are made of heavier stuff. They’re made of the “Gold”—those raw, unscripted moments that happen Beyond the Glass.

As I open my calendar for 2026, I’m looking for the unconventional. The rebels. The couples who want their legacy documented with grit, grace, and zero performance.

My schedule is intentionally limited. I don’t book to fill a quota; I book to find the pulse. If you’re looking for a photographer who sees the truth behind the static, let’s talk.

The one that stays. 🎞️✨

We’ve reached the finale of Beyond the Glass. To close out the series, Alexis reflects on the true weight of a photograph: the power to hold a memory when the day itself starts to feel like a beautiful blur.

In Part 9, Alexis shares her favorite photo from the day. It’s not necessarily the most “perfect” shot, but it’s the one that feels the most like them. It’s a reminder that at the end of the day, after the cake is gone and the dress is packed away, these frames are the bridge back to how you felt in that exact second.

This series has been about peeling back the layers of the wedding industry to find the heartbeat underneath. Thank you for following Sam, Mike, Kaitlyn, Jack, Alexis and Mike on this journey.

Budget vs. Vision. 💸✨

In Part 8 of Beyond the Glass, we’re getting practical. Katlyn and Jack are pulling back the curtain on one of the biggest wedding stressors: The Budget.

High-end photography and a dream wedding don’t have to mean financial burnout. In this episode, Kaitlyn and Jack share the creative ways they saved money without sacrificing the “soul” of their day. From prioritizing what actually matters to cutting out the digital noise and “filler” traditions, they’re breaking down how to keep your focus on the marriage, not just the invoice.

We’re one step away from the series finale. If you’ve been planning your 2026/2027 wedding, this is the episode you need to save. 📌

Watch Part 8 to hear their top money-saving tips for a Michigan wedding.

Beyond the frame. 🎞️✨

In Part 7 of Beyond the Glass, Mike and Samantha sit down to talk about something that hits a little different: The Wedding Film.

Photography captures the split second, but video captures the vibration. Samantha and Mike share what it was like to see their day in motion—hearing the cracks in their voices during the vows and seeing the way the light moved through the room.

It’s one thing to remember how a day looked; it’s another thing to relive how it felt. Mike and Samantha dive into the experience of being filmed and why having a team that understands the “documentary soul” made all the difference.

Watch Part 7 to see why the best memories aren’t just seen—they’re heard and felt.

Warning: High levels of groove detected! 🕺🔥🎞️

If there is one thing I’ve learned shooting weddings, it’s that the reception is where the soul of the day really comes out. Once the ties are loosened and the shoes come off, the real magic happens!

There’s something about that one perfect song that turns a room of guests into a family. Watching these moments back always brings the biggest smile to my face—and even bigger ones to my couples when they see what went down on the dance floor!

From the first beat to the last sparkler exit, I’m right there in the middle of the crowd, camera in hand, catching every laugh, every jump, and every “I love this song!” face.

Turn the volume up and get ready to groove. This is what a celebration looks like through my lens! 🥂✨

Can an algorithm capture a soul? 🎞️🤖

In Part 6 of Beyond the Glass, Alexis and Mike dive into a conversation that’s more relevant now than ever: The human element vs. AI.

We live in a world where images can be generated in seconds, but a memory can’t be manufactured. Alexis and Mike talk about why having a real photographer—someone who feels the energy of the room and anticipates the catch in a father’s breath—is irreplaceable.

Photography isn’t just about a “perfect” image; it’s about the truth of the moment. It’s about the heirlooms you’ll hold 50 years from now that prove you were there, you were loved, and it was real.

Watch Part 6 to hear why some things are too important to be left to technology.

The secret to a “hands-off” wedding day? It’s all in the hands-on planning. 🎞️📝

For Part 5 of Beyond the Glass, Katlyn and Jack are dropping the most important piece of advice for a successful wedding day.

It sounds simple, but it’s the one thing that separates a stressful day from a soulful one: The Planning. As a documentary photographer, I’ve seen it firsthand—the couples who are the most relaxed, the most “in the moment,” and the most fun to capture are the ones who did the heavy lifting before the sun even rose on the wedding day. When the logistics are locked in, you finally have the freedom to just be.

Watch Part 5 to hear why Katlyn and Jack say the prep work was the key to their favorite memories.

The things no one tells you about the wedding day... 🎞️🎙️

Part 2 of Beyond the Glass is here.

Tonight, we’re diving into the reality of the “perfect” day and wedding planning. I asked my couples how important planning was for them. Their answers all pointed to one thing: the importance of preparation.

As a photographer, my job isn’t just to pose you—it’s to be ready for the honesty that happens between the poses. That’s where the real legacy lives.
