Kathryn & Tyler’s Love Story

Sometimes the best love stories begin when you least expect them. Kathryn and Tyler first met on a blind date at Texas Roadhouse in September of 2021. What was meant to be a simple dinner quickly turned into something magical. They talked and laughed until the restaurant lights dimmed and the staff gently told them it was closing time. Still, neither wanted the night to end, so they lingered in the parking lot for another thirty minutes, lost in conversation and already feeling that spark that would change everything.

Over the next two and a half years, their bond grew stronger with every adventure, every shared laugh, and every quiet moment together. Then, in February of 2024, Tyler asked Kathryn the easiest question she’d ever been asked — to marry him. Around that same time, he received a job offer in Virginia and knew he couldn’t imagine starting that new chapter without her by his side.

The two were legally married in June of 2024, but always dreamed of celebrating their love surrounded by their family and friends. Today, they happily call Virginia home, where life’s little moments are shared with their favorite companion — their pet frog, Petey.

Like all great love stories, this one begins with a beautiful girl and a lucky guy. McKenzie and David first crossed paths while working together, where a simple friendship slowly grew into something extraordinary. Before long, they realized their hearts fit perfectly together, and their story was only just beginning.

Together, they’ve built a life filled with love, laughter, and faith — whether they’re spending quiet evenings at home with their two hound dogs, soaking up the sunshine at the lake, cheering on their favorite football teams, or serving Jesus side by side.

Over the past three years, McKenzie and David have become inseparable, blending their lives and families so naturally that it feels as though it was always meant to be. Surrounded by endless love and unwavering support, they’re beyond grateful for everyone who has walked beside them on this journey.

Today, before their family and friends, McKenzie and David joyfully promise forever to one another — joining their hearts and lives together as husband and wife at The Oaks Wedding Venue.

Drew and Sydney met through a college ministry, but their real story kicked off when they accidentally got lost on a hike at Caesars Head. What was supposed to be a short adventure turned into 11 miles, 6 hours, and endless conversation—and neither of them minded one bit. After months of being best friends, they finally made it official halfway through college. Fast forward 3.5 years, Drew brought things full circle and proposed to Sydney right back at Caesars Head. And now, here they are at The Oaks Wedding Venue, ready to say “I do” and start the next adventure together!

Jackson and Lacey’s story began in December of 2021, when their paths first crossed over dollar beers at Cutter’s Pub in downtown Athens, Georgia. From that night on, they were inseparable. Lacey loves to joke that Jackson has been obsessed with her since day one—rightfully so, of course. Not long after, Jackson officially asked her to be his girlfriend, fittingly enough, back at Cutter’s Pub.

Since then, the two have built a beautiful life together, filled with laughter, adventure, and their little farm family—two dogs (Sampson and Guinness), more than 50 chickens, and two Guinea fowls. On July 22, 2024, Jackson got down on one knee in Elfin Cove, Alaska, during what was supposed to be a simple “history boat tour.” Lacey couldn’t quite figure out why everyone insisted she get dressed up after a long day of fishing—until the surprise unfolded. And when she turned to find Jackson on one knee, her very first words were, “SHUT UP!”

Now, 1,324 days after that night in Athens, they’re finally saying “I do.” Jackson and Lacey couldn’t be more excited to begin this next chapter surrounded by the family and friends who mean the world to them.

Seven years ago, Sarah Grace and Josiah met on a high school mission trip—an encounter that would quietly spark a beautiful love story. Just three months later, they began dating, and their journey together has only deepened with time. Josiah proposed at a scenic overlook near Table Rock, Sarah Grace’s favorite hiking spot—making the moment as breathtaking as their love. Today, surrounded by their closest family and friends, they say “I do” beneath the oaks, beginning a new chapter as husband and wife.

Seven years ago, I stepped into a dream—becoming the Manager of The Oaks Wedding Venue. Since then, I’ve had the joy and honor of witnessing love stories unfold beneath our trees and cafe lights. It’s been a blessing to help so many couples begin their forever right here at The Oaks, where every “I do” feels like a fairytale come to life.
