Need ideas for wedding shower games? Here are a few..
Bridal shower games are a great ice-breaker if guests do not know each other very well. This handy guide is full of game ideas you can play for tons of bridal shower fun.
Toilet Paper Wedding Gown
Divide guests into teams of two or three people. Each team is given rolls of toilet paper and they choose a “bride” from their team. Give the teams 20 minutes to create a wedding dress on their “bride” using the toilet paper. At the end of 20 minutes, vote for the best wedding dress and the funniest, and give prizes to the winners.
Famous Couples
Before the party, make a list of famous romantic couples. The couples can be real or fictional. Choose couples that your guests are likely to know. Write each name down separately on name tags and as each guest arrives, put a name tag (without showing them) on their back. Their task is to go around the party and ask yes or no questions about their "secret identity." For example, "am I a fictional character?" "Am I a man?" Then, they have to find their "better half". The game ends when everyone has found their partner. Award a prize to the first couple to do so.
The Purse Game
This is a simple game where the hostess makes a list of items likely to appear in a woman’s purse and assigns a point value to each item ranging from 1-5 depending on how unusual the item is. For example car keys might be a 1 on the scale, a mirror a 3 and an eye lash curler a 5. The hostess might also choose to allow 10 bonus points for the woman who can produce the most outrageous item from her purse. The woman with the most points wins the game. Another variation of this game is to have a list of items and call out the items one at a time. The first woman to find each item and hand it to the person judging the game wins one point. After the entire list has been completed, the woman with the most points is the winner.
The Newlywed Quiz
This game has 20 questions about the groom you will ask the bride but you will need to find out the answers before the shower. To play, ask the bride 20 questions about her groom. If you want to have a winner, keep track of the number of bride's correct answers. The guest who guesses the right number of her correct answers, wins.
Spice Game
Have ten bottles of herbs or spices with the labels covered. Have the guests guess the spices and herbs - they are allowed to smell the herbs or spices. The guest with the most correct answers may keep the spices or give them to the bride.
What’s in a Name?
Take the first name of the bride and groom (include last names if they have short first names). Write them down on a piece of paper and give one out to each guest. Instruct them that they are to try to find words that can be made from the names. Then give them a certain amount of time to write down as many words as they can think of. At the end of the allotted time have guests total up the number of words they have and the one who came up with the most combination wins.
Bridal Shower Bingo
This game is played just like regular bingo but instead of using letters and numbers for the spaces, each space is filled with a word or words that relate to weddings, love or marriage such as wedding dress, favors, rings, etc. The host makes up the bingo cards ahead of time and puts a piece of paper with each word used on the cards into a large bowl. During the game, the hostess will draw out a word and read it allowed and each guest will mark that square on their card. The first person to complete an entire row, column or diagonal wins the game.
Sticker Game
When all of the guests are seated, pass out stickers to each person. After everyone has a sticker on her shirt the game begins. Nobody is allowed to say the brides name or cross their legs or ankles. The person catching another person doing that gets her sticker. The person with the most stickers at the end of the shower wins a prize.
How Well Do You Know the Bride?
Have pre-printed paper with different questions about the bride, etc. What is the bride’s favorite color? What does the bride plan to name her first child? What size shoe does she wear? Pass the paper out to the guests and set a time limit. Whoever gets the most correct is the winner.
Advice for the Bride
Cut construction paper into small heart shapes and set a jar beside the paper. Hand all of the guests a piece of paper with a pen and ask them to write "advice for the bride" example, "never go to bed mad". Place completed hearts in the container and ask the bride to read them out loud. This is a great keepsake for the bride.
