Y’all, what a day!! It was so nice meeting so many new faces today!! Some of you stopped by for the first time ever… Welcome!! And some of you come by regularly, but it’s the first time we’ve actually met. So good to meet all of you! Seriously!! …This farming business can get rather quiet around here in the bugs, weeds, and flowers. So meeting so many of you has done my heart good.♥️ There have been a lot of new followers and new customers lately… Welcome!! It is my hope and intention that you enjoy this journey, the bouquets, or both. I hope you’re all enjoying this gorgeous weekend!

Some new dahlias have decided to join the garden party… Meet Bloomquist KellyAnn F., Barbarry Dominion, and Sweet Love. Many others are just getting ready to bloom. Just hoping to be able to add them to some bouquets very soon! Don’t forget to add your favorites to your Dahlia Favorites photo album for the winter dahlia tuber sale. We’ll have a large selection of formal decoratives, informal decoratives, balls, pompons, waterlilies, singles, collarettes, orchids, anemones, cactus, semi-cactus, peonies, and stellars to choose from. Bloomquist KellyAnn F. is the first collarette to bloom. Isn’t she so cheery and whimsical?! Also, the fall annual crop is well on the way with sunflowers, eucalyptus, more zinnias, cosmos, celosia, and some exciting new varieties on the way!

It’s a busy week of ripping out the spring annual beds to get them ready for the perennials to be planted here in their place, cleaning up around the yard after the windstorm Saturday evening, and harvesting lots of blooms. Even though the fall annuals aren’t quite ready, the summer annuals are still bursting with blooms with all the rain we’re getting. Still many more blooms to harvest this week, more beds to clean up, and plenty more weeds to pull!

This little creature stopped in for a visit on Thursday while I was making bouquets. However, I’ve got mixed feelings about them now. While they do eat bad bugs like moths, crickets, grasshoppers, and aphids, I learned from a follower last year that larger ones also eat hummingbirds! 😧 They can also consume small frogs and lizards! But then what about eating those hover flies/corn flies/sweat bees or whatever you want to call them?! And maybe some Japanese beetles while they’re at it! Anyway, I did release it to do what they do! After all I do have plenty of grass hoppers they can munch on. 🤨

Thank you all so much for coming out today! It was so nice meeting some of you at market yesterday evening as well as down at the flower stand today. I hope you enjoy your flowers. More importantly, enjoy your time with family. Have a restful Sunday! 🩵

Goooooood mornin’ flower friends!! Your farm-fresh zinnia and lisianthus bouquets are waiting for you roadside!! Wrapped bouquets are $20, large jars are $15, and small jars are $10. Cash and Venmo are accepted. We’re located at 4707 N. 200 E., Anderson. Open til 9pm and restocking throughout the day! The Bouquet Bar will be open next Saturday from 2 to 6pm.
