Helicopter elopements are the opposite of cookie-cutter ✨ Chrys & Tyler’s glacier day was proof that you can (and should!) make it your own.

🌿 They found ways to carry their pups with them — even though their sweet dogs had passed, they honored their memory with dog tags and socks.

🥖 Instead of cake, they packed a loaf of bread (because bread > cake for these two) plus a mix of desserts for a mountain-top picnic.

👗 Chrys chose a skirt + top combo because a full wedding gown just didn’t feel like her.

🍾 And yes, champagne sprays taste even better overlooking a glacier.

If you’ve been dreaming of an Alaska helicopter elopement, here’s your reminder: the only rule is that there are no rules 💙

Lately I’ve felt so honored in my business to have the chance to photograph such amazing people. ✨ Elsa and Conner are total power couple goals — two of the happiest, most light-hearted souls whose laughter was contagious from start to finish. It was so fun hearing about their adventures (including a recent 100-mile road bike trip that left them with sore butts but even bigger hearts 🚴‍♀️💕). There’s something so special about working with people who radiate joy — it shines through every frame. We were even blessed with a rare break from the rain and the calmest evening at Eklutna Lake 🌿💛

Francesca & Will’s Seward elopement in 5 words: bees, helicopters, mountains, keys, Nate. 🐝🚁⛰️🔑✨

It started with the bees. I had literally just made a comment about how I could just feel that the day was special, sweating through my t-shirt, so smug about having a rain-free day in Seward…and then the biggest bees I’ve ever seen swarmed Francesca mid-ceremony. We rushed through the ring exchange, signed the license, and bolted before they carried us away.

Next up: a helicopter ride to the top of Mount Marathon (10/10 recommend). Francesca hiked down in her wedding dress with the most Alaskan grace I’ve ever seen. But at the bottom? The rental car wouldn’t open. Keys = lost somewhere between the top of the mountain and the bottom.

So back up we went! Enter Nate. He was enjoying his post-hike snack when I explained what happened as we searched. “Man, that sucks. Probably won’t find them.” I think we were all fearing the same thing. After a few minutes of searching, stoic, snack-eating hiker Nate packed up, walked a few steps, bent down like it was nothing and found the keys we thought were gone forever. Will basically collapsed into his arms in relief. And as we flew back down, there was Nate again, standing on the rocks like he’d just risen straight out of the mountains. Honestly, still not sure if he was even real.

We ended the night with a beach picnic and dinner at The Flamingo. These two are my Texas besties, and I’m fully convinced Francesca is my sister in another life. This day will live rent-free in my heart and memory forever!! 💛

Film has a way of slowing time. These frames sat undeveloped for a year, but they brought me right back to the smallest, sweetest moments 🎞️

I had this roll of film sitting undeveloped in my office for over a year, and just got the scans back yesterday. At the time it was just fishing trips, bath time, and Cora waiting on a coat in the parking lot while we loaded up the car. Now it feels like 36 pieces of treasure.

I’ve been so inspired lately by people who keep family at the very center of their lives - it’s made me look at my own moments with fresh eyes. On this 9/11, I’m reminded how quickly life can change, and how the ordinary days together are the ones that matter most.

Leah & Davis’ day was full of the sweetest, most intentional moments 🤍 Leah’s sisters and mom sang and prayed over her before the ceremony, Davis welded the arch they stood beneath, and for their unity ceremony they slipped outside to weld their initials together while everyone inside worshiped. When they came back in, you could feel how sacred and beautiful it was.

And just when we thought the ceremony couldn’t get more special, Leah softly sang the last lines of the worship song as it ended - such a simple, powerful surprise.

The rest of the day was pure celebration: second breakfast + a coffee bar (with custom mug favors, of course), a golden Turnagain Arm sunset, and a boat ride to one of their favorite places. Truly, the Offords started their marriage in the most them way possible - rooted in faith, joy, and so much love.

Mike has been planning this moment for Katherine for months…and she had no idea! 💍

We “met” at Sheep Mountain Lodge, where I played the part of a random passenger hopping on the same helicopter ride (my “birthday gift” from my husband 😉). She didn’t suspect a thing—though she did comment that I probably had a nice camera for the views.

At our very first landing on the Matanuska Glacier, right beside a glowing blue pool, Mike dropped to one knee… and got the sweetest YES. 🏔✨

Blue skies, sparkling ice, wildlife sightings, and a love story that started a brand-new chapter in the middle of the glacier. Congratulations, you two! 🤍

Megan & Matt are officially getting married today! 🥂 These two moved to Alaska last year, braved their first winter like pros, and have fallen in love with this wild, beautiful place they now call home.

Today marks the start of their greatest adventure yet 🤍

Meet the Merricks 🌸

Caitlin & Gunnar got married at their family cabin in Homer this past weekend and it was straight-up dreamy. What was expected to be a rainy day turned into something spectacular - blue skies opened up during the ceremony, the perfect breeze made Caitlin’s veil dance, and the most insane golden hour you’ve ever seen blessed us during portraits.

It’s always special photographing couples who are beautiful on the outside and the inside — Caitlin, Gunnar, and their crew were some of the kindest, most welcoming people. Epic views, fireweed everywhere, the cutest cocktails, and florals that seriously stole the show. We wandered through wildflowers, chased golden hour, and soaked up every ounce of that Alaska magic. 🏔

Still not over the most stunning day in Homer for Mr. & Mrs. Lovett 💫

They shared their first look on a mountaintop with insane views in every direction—flown in by helicopter with the legendary Pilot Ted. Not even a breeze - just sunshine and magic and the kind of view that leaves you speechless.

Married at AK Dimond J Ranch, surrounded by family, love, and a perfect Alaska summer day.

What a way to begin a marriage! 🤍

After a little break from posting, there’s no better way to return to this space than with these two. 🌿✨
Leah has been one of my closest friends since we were two years old, and getting to photograph her and Davis on this golden, joy-filled evening was truly special. These moments were full of laughter, connection, and so much love— it’s been an honor to have a front row seat watching their relationship grow and I’m counting down the days until I get to capture their wedding next month. 💍
So happy to be sharing again. So excited for what’s ahead. 🤍
