Francesca & Will’s Seward elopement in 5 words: bees, helicopters, mountains, keys, Nate. 🐝🚁⛰️🔑✨
It started with the bees. I had literally just made a comment about how I could just feel that the day was special, sweating through my t-shirt, so smug about having a rain-free day in Seward…and then the biggest bees I’ve ever seen swarmed Francesca mid-ceremony. We rushed through the ring exchange, signed the license, and bolted before they carried us away.
Next up: a helicopter ride to the top of Mount Marathon (10/10 recommend). Francesca hiked down in her wedding dress with the most Alaskan grace I’ve ever seen. But at the bottom? The rental car wouldn’t open. Keys = lost somewhere between the top of the mountain and the bottom.
So back up we went! Enter Nate. He was enjoying his post-hike snack when I explained what happened as we searched. “Man, that sucks. Probably won’t find them.” I think we were all fearing the same thing. After a few minutes of searching, stoic, snack-eating hiker Nate packed up, walked a few steps, bent down like it was nothing and found the keys we thought were gone forever. Will basically collapsed into his arms in relief. And as we flew back down, there was Nate again, standing on the rocks like he’d just risen straight out of the mountains. Honestly, still not sure if he was even real.
We ended the night with a beach picnic and dinner at The Flamingo. These two are my Texas besties, and I’m fully convinced Francesca is my sister in another life. This day will live rent-free in my heart and memory forever!! 💛
