Meet Wendy 👋
Wendy is the Director of Events & Production at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. When asked what her favorite part of working at the PAC is, she said the people! 🎭

“The kids when they see their first Nutcracker. The adults when they see a really good comedian, or walk out of a musical tapping their toes. That’s the magic, that’s what makes it worth it.” ❤️

Stay tuned to get to know more of the people behind the scenes at the PAC!

Today is Alaska's first official Arts & Culture Day! 🎭 To celebrate, we're sharing the first story from ARTWORKS, a video series on how the arts impact our community.

At AWAIC (Abused Women's Aid In Crisis), creative expression becomes a pathway to healing, connection, and empowerment. Through art-making, cultural practices, and relationships with local artists, survivors and families find space to express themselves, build connection, and imagine what comes next. 🎨

October is also National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which is why we're starting with this story.
Watch "Making Space To Heal" and catch a new story every Monday this month at http://artworksanchorage.org

Thanks to your support, we just finished installing a new fire panel system in the PAC 🔥🔨 It can detect a fire, pinpoint its exact location, and get emergency crews there faster.

Although it’s not the flashiest building update, it’s one of the most important! We care deeply about the safety of everyone who enjoys the PAC, and this was a much-needed upgrade. Thank you for supporting the arts! 🎭

Today marks 25 years since our nation was forever changed by the events of September 11, 2001.

We hold space for the lives we lost, for the families who continue to carry their memory, and for the first responders who ran toward danger. 🇺🇸

Happy Actors' Day! 🎭

Today's for the people who step on our stage and completely transform into someone else. You make us laugh, ugly cry, and forget about everything else going on for a couple of hours, and we don't take that for granted.

Thank you to every actor who's ever performed at the PAC. We are so grateful for your talent and hard work! 👏
