Your library is only as good as your organisation 🎧

Here are 7 quick tips to clean up your DJ library and play your next show with confidence:

1️⃣ Clean up title & artist fields
Fix typos, remove junk and promotional text, and standardise formatting. For example: “daft punk - GET LUCKY” → “Daft Punk - Get Lucky”. Cleaner tags make browsing much easier.

2️⃣ Clean up genres
Keep genre tags consistent. “Drum and Bass”, “Drum & Bass” and “DnB” might mean the same thing, but inconsistent tags make searching harder. Pick one format and stick with it.

3️⃣ Add custom tags
Tag tracks by energy, mood, venue, instruments, time — whatever helps you find the right track in the moment. Go beyond Key and BPM and organise around the vibe you want on the dancefloor.

4️⃣ Build smart playlists
Combine genres, BPM and custom tags into playlists like “High Energy Techno”, “Sunset Chill” or “Groovy Disco House”. Prep sets in minutes instead of scrolling forever. With Lexicon, smart playlists can automatically update as you add new music.

5️⃣ Add cue points
Mark intros, drops, breakdowns and outros ahead of time. Consistent cue points give you a better visual map of every track and make phrasing and transitions much more confident.

6️⃣ Clean up duplicates
Duplicates clutter search results, mess with playlists and waste time when you’re digging live. Keep the best version — highest quality, correct tags and cue points already set.

7️⃣ Back up your library
Don’t let a hard drive failure erase hours of organisation. Keep a backup on an external drive or in the cloud so your library is always recoverable.
