We flowered our first full service wedding yesterday and it was pure magic!✨
Bright pinks and bold oranges made for the most beautiful summer color palette.

From buckets of Blumes to bouquets, ceremony installs, and every petal in between…seeing it all come together was such a wonderful feeling. I swore against full service weddings when I started, but I’m officially in love.

Thankful for new flower friends who came through in the last minute to help supplement stems. Y’all are the real MVP’s. Couldn’t have pulled this off without you! THANK YOU! 💜

📸Here is a little sneak peak from the day. Shot from my trusty iPhone.

*Sunday edit! We are taking a last minute spontaneous trip to the mountains for a couple of days! Those of you who have already ordered, I’ve got you down. They will be ready on your selected day! I will make a few extra just in case but we will be back Wednesday evening and will resume business as usual! Sorry for any inconveniences. I appreciate your understanding! 💜

How are we already through summer and at Back to School!? That went by way too fast! I feel like I blinked and summer was over 😩

Back to School means it’s time for Meet the Teacher Joy Jars! These jars are the most thoughtful little gifts for teachers! They fit perfectly on their desk and offer a beautiful pick me up for the first day of school!

Preorders are now open! Just comment here or shoot me a message with how many you would like and what day you’d like to pick up!

Joy Jars are $10. (Picture is just an example of past jars, flowers will not be as pictured but equally as adorable!) 😉

Like, comment and share for your chance to win a FREE joy jar! Facebook is being finicky and won’t let me tag my followers so I need your help getting the word out 🫶🏼

Half of the reason I grow flowers is the chance to see these beauties fill my gardens every year. Why are butterflies so magical? I can’t get enough. If you need me. I’ll be watching the butterflies 🦋

Story Time!

First 2025 fail of the season. My favorite flower bed is typically my chaos garden. I usually will mix a bunch of left over seeds and toss them to see what happens. For the past 2 years, it has been my favorite bed. Pollinator haven and just bursting with color. I did the same this year. However, I also threw down a “beneficial insect flower mix” along with my many packets of Cosmos seeds. Wasn’t even sure what was in it the mix, but it sounded good. MISTAKE. Here I am all season thus far babying this bed. I’ve been so excited for all of these lush beautiful “cosmos” to bloom. YALL. Finally pulled out my favorite plant identification app. (PictureThis for those needing a good app) IVE BEEN BABYING RAGWEED this entire season. Giant thriving ragweed!! What a rookie mistake!

Yesterday I decided to try to tackle said Ragweed. Not only do I have an entire bed of Ragweed, but also an entire bed of Morning Glories that were choking out everything in their path. Including my imposter Cosmos. If you know anything about Morning Glories, they are BEAUTIFUL when they bloom. But one cannot just grow Morning Glories in the ground. They will spread and choke out literally everything around them. I typically grow them in a pot so that they vine all over my arch. But they have always been contained. Until now. 🫣 I got about a third of the bed ripped out last night. And it was a much bigger task than I could have ever imagined. The Morning Glories have created an entire forest amongst the Ragweed. Lesson learned. Sharing this post so that you too don’t make the same mistake.

Don’t buy the seed mixes. Buy seeds from reputable suppliers that explicitly state what is in the mix. Aim for seeds that include natives to our area that aren’t invasive. Before you plant anything new, research. Google it. Read real life stories. Hopefully I caught it all before it spreads and takes over my entire operation. I can’t even begin to imagine trying to navigate Morning Glories in all of my beds. I would rather burn it all down if I’m being honest. 🤣

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk. Thank you for following along on this journey. I’ve been quiet lately while patiently waiting for the Blume explosion, but it’s coming! Zinnias have finally started popping this week and we have quite a few Dahlias budding up. Sunflowers are getting bigger and everything is finally starting to come alive. While this “summer season” may have been a slow start, the end of the summer shall be abundant! Stay tuned my friends! 🫶🏼

Celebrated the life of a legend yesterday. And I was absolutely honored to provide the flowers. Is this not the most amazing Urn? So modern. I love it so much. 💙

Don’t mind us. Just over here patiently waiting, watering, pacing, fertilizing and pacing some more. Fellow garden friends, what’s going on with your gardens this year so far? Everything here at Funky Fresh seems confused. I love that every year is a brand new learning experience! Keeps me on my toes 🫣 But I won’t lie and say I’m not starting to get nervous. Typically by now Zinnias and Sunflowers are in full Blume or at least budded up to be blooming soon. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for just an insanely beautiful end of summer explosion of Blumes, but we shall see!

Tell me about your gardens! What is growing? What is stalled? What is dying? Let’s chat! I’ve been too quiet lately!

And while we are here, look at this beauty that got sent out the other day. Not my Suns, but equally as beautiful!! This one just screams summer to me! ☀️

The hardest part about doing flowers is the moments right before a bride sees her wedding flowers. THE MOST STRESSFUL SWEAT FILLED ANXIETY RIDDEN MOMENTS OF ALL TIME. 😬😳

90% local fresh cut flowers. The season is upon us. And I can’t even wait. I was incredibly honored to make this arrangement to celebrate the life of Addison and to thank those that hosted her benefit today. While I didn’t have the opportunity to ever meet Addison, my recipient deep dive led me to many stories about how bright of a light she was to so many. I thought about Addison and her impact on our community the entire time I was creating this piece. I hope I was able to capture that beautiful light in the form of flowers. I absolutely love creating arrangements with deep meaning. It makes this journey worth every second. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this celebration. 🫶🏼
