The mission of the Iron Horse Theatre Company is to provide thought provoking and entertaining theater that will enrich the cultural life in what is now known as the "rust belt" area of southwestern Pennsylvania. We will provide the people of this community the opportunity to not only attend, but also to participate in quality presentations and theatrical works. The symbolic name, "Iron Horse" rep

resents the hard-working and "iron-willed" people in this part of the world. It is in this spirit that we will create theatrical experiences that celebrate the grit, determination, and strength of the human character.

It's officially turtle race season in Ambridge! (Yes, you read that right.)

The annual race hosts plenty of fun, food, and activities for all ages and it's a great way to get out and meet others in the community as well as learning more about what businesses operate in and around the Ambridge area.

We'll be there for every race this year and look forward to meeting new and former audience members alike.

Next race day is June 20th! 🐢🏁
See you there!

Did you know?

The script for "Copenhagen" has no stage directions and barely any scene breaks, aside from the transition from Act One to Act Two. Everything else is created in rehearsal by the actors and director.

That means the movement, pacing, monologues, emotional moments, and even scene changes are entirely up for interpretation, making this play vary from one theatre to the next. One cast's interpretation could be vastly different from another because of how it's written; so if you've seen this show before - no, you haven't!

We can’t wait for audiences to experience this powerful and thought-provoking show on the Iron Horse stage this June.

🎭 Performances: June 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 at 7:30PM
June 21 at 2:00PM

Last week, we had the privilege of participating in Pittsburgh Public Theater’s Community Theatre Showcase as part of the Dollar Bank Lobby Series, organized by Caitlin Young. We’re incredibly grateful to the Public for hosting this celebration of local theatre and to everyone who worked to make the event possible.

Theatre has always been part of what makes Pittsburgh special. At a time when many arts organizations are facing uncertainty and difficult changes, events like this are a reminder of how much passion and dedication exist within Pittsburgh’s theatre community. Theatre cannot exist without the people who believe in it, and every person who supports local art helps keep these spaces alive for artists and audiences alike.

We hope this showcase encouraged people to discover (or rediscover!) a local theatre and go see a show.

Performers: Amy Baschnagel & Eric Vollmer
