On Thursday, July 31, we celebrated our building's official designation as a Texas Historic Landmark!⭐️

This historical marker represents the enduring legacy of Melissa Dora Oliver-Eakle: a philanthropist, trailblazer, businesswoman and driving force behind what became the Crown Jewel of Amarillo.

For more than 30 years, The Barfield Building sat vacant, but we believed there was more history to be written. Through years of revitalization, The Barfield was transformed into the boutique hotel you see today -- one that honors its history while offers elevated hospitality to Amarillo.

We're proud to be a part of this building's next chapter, and we're incredible thankful to the Texas Historical Commission and Center City for helping ensure that its past is preserved and celebrated.
