✨ Possibly the most romantic guest “book” EVER! 🥹❤️

Inspired by the beloved Vicente Fernández ballad *En La Penca De Un Maguey* (“In the Agave Plant’s Leaf”), this couple invited their guests to become part of their love story in a truly unforgettable way.

As the song played softly in the background, guests carved their names into the leaves of a living blue agave plant—a tribute to the famous lyrics:

“Engraved in the agave plant’s leaf,
Your name joined with mine, intertwined.”

“Grave en la penca de un maguey,
Tu nombre unido al mío, entrelazados.”

Just as the lovers in the song marked their devotion on an agave leaf, family and friends left their own mark in celebration of this marriage.

Unlike a traditional guest book tucked away on a shelf, these signatures will remain as the agave grows, carrying the visible scars of love, friendship, and shared memories for years to come.

A living guest book. A timeless love song. A beautiful reminder that some stories are meant to grow. 💙🌵

🌼 Bud vases are having a major moment in weddings right now, and I can see why.

They create a light, airy look, allow guests to easily see across the table, and can be a beautiful way to stretch a floral budget. They’re also one of our favorite options for couples who love a more organic, gathered-from-the-garden feel.

For couples considering a DIY approach, bud vases can be more approachable than large centerpiece arrangements since each vase is styled individually and often requires less complex design work.

At the same time, many professional florists point out that bud vase designs still require sourcing flowers, processing blooms, delivery, setup, and artistic vision—so they aren’t always the budget-saver couples expect.

Garden wedding design elements of Breanna and Ryan’s March wedding at our venue south of Tucson: (read whole caption for a tip at the end)

✔️A lush garden venue (that’s us 😉)
✔️Green table overlays for rounds; runners for rectangular tables
✔️Patterned green and white napkins (couple purchased online) placed under salad plate
✔️Woven chargers, classic white china, glassware and table numbers all provided by venue
✔️Gold votives
✔️Entrance posters - a surprise from a family member

TIP: To have salad plates and dinner plates set at the table, this couple had salad served family-style, then, when the salad plate was cleared, guests took their dinner plate to the buffet. * Having both plates pre-set does not work because it gets confusing if guests have to make two separate trips to the buffet for salad then dinner and they won’t carry two plates OR if dinner is “plated” by wait-staff, there would be no plates at tables.
