The Ol' Ford's Soul
In the quiet hum of a dusty shed,
Beneath one bare bulb, overhead,
Stood a '47 Ford, strong and true,
Its dark paint tellin' stories, worn but new.
The big round lights, like ancient, steady eyes,
Reflected lonely nights and endless skies.
They cut through fog, and miles of county line,
Guiding home, a truth, a simple sign.
That chrome-grin grille, a classic, rusty smile,
Whispered tales across each passing mile.
A steel dream forged, when life was hard but free,
The open road, for all the world to see.
The seats, they held the ghosts of yesterday,
Of laughter shared, that just won't fade away.
Of honest hands upon the worn-smooth wheel,
A sturdy heart, that knew just how to feel.
Not just a truck, but kin, a loyal friend,
From dawn's first light until the very end.
A silent witness, to the sun and rain,
Easing burdens, through joy and through pain.
It ain't just metal, rust, and tired gears,
It's weathered time, and conquered all the years.
A country beacon, through the dust and gleam,
The soul of freedom, living out a dream.
