Yvonne Lucia Bonomo was born on December 15, 1970 to Sonia and John Bonomo. She lived in Jackson Heights, Queens, NY. Yvonne was known to have a sweet personality, and she loved talking to and complimenting others. She was often smiling, dancing, and traveling. She was described by her friends and family as funny, loyal, enthusiastic, and special. Yvonne was at an exciting time in her life as she had recently gotten engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Anthony Vaccaro. Yvonne loved to travel a lot, as her job at American Express afforded her a lot of corporate discounts on travel. On September 10th, Yvonne returned home from a trip to Las Vegas to attend the wedding of a friend. The next morning, she got ready for another day of work at the World Trade Center.

Yvonne worked as a corporate travel booker for American Express on the 94th floor of the World Trade Center’s North Tower. She would book trips for executives at Marsh & McLennan. On the morning of September 11, 2001, Yvonne was working on the 94th floor when Flight 11 struck the North Tower, leaving her floor directly within the impassable impact zone. No one on the floor or any of Marsh’s offices survived the attack, including Yvonne. Though her life was sadly taken on September 11th, Yvonne’s love, accomplishments, and memories are forever cherished and remembered. Her life and legacy are never forgotten.

Edward K. Oliver, 31 years old, North Tower 92nd floor

Edward K. Oliver was born on January 11, 1971 to Barbara and Donald Oliver in Prince’s Bay, Staten Island, NY, where he also grew up. He had two brothers, Don and James, and a sister, Barbara. He lived in Jackson, NJ. Edward attended and graduated from Tottenville High School in 1988. Edward met his sweetheart, Sheryl Oliver, on Daytona Beach on vacation. The pair fell quickly in love, believing from the very next day that they would one day marry. They were right and were married for seven loving years. Edward and Sheryl had two children together, Emily, age 2 1/2, and Eddie, age 4 months (at the time of Edward’s passing). Edward was a loving and devoted husband and father who spent almost all of his leisure time with his family. He was in the process of teaching his daughter, Emily, to hit a ball off a tee, and he had celebrated the christening of his son, Eddie, the weekend before the attacks. The family was planning a trip to Hershey Park for late September. Edward loved playing golf and had been a star player in high school. He loved spending time on the golf course on the weekends in his free time. He got together all the men in his family and vacationed in Myrtle Beach every August, including in 2001. Edward was a big sports fan and an avid fan of the New York Rangers and the New York Yankees. He would record all the games and then piece them together to create his own highlight tapes. He also loved the show, The Honeymooners.

Edward worked as a commodities broker for Carr Futures at the New York Mercantile Exchange building in lower Manhattan, a few blocks away from the World Trade Center. On the morning of September 11, 2001, Edward attended a meeting at Carr Futures’ World Trade Center offices on the 92nd floor of the North Tower. While the 92nd floor was one floor below the impact zone, debris from above unfortunately hit all the escape routes, and no one on the floor survived, including Edward. Though his life was sadly cut short on September 11th, Edward’s love, accomplishments, and memories are forever cherished and remembered. His life and legacy are never forgotten.

Terrence “Terry” Patrick Farrell, 45 years old, Rescue at the World Trade Center

Terrence Patrick Farrell was born on March 10, 1956 to Ruth and Joe Farrell. He was the fifth of seven sons. He lived in Huntington, NY, and most commonly went by the nickname, Terry. Terry attended and graduated from Hicksville High School in 1974. In addition to his work with the FDNY, Terry was also a member of the Hicksville Fire Department, where he served as an Assistant Chief. He was a member of the Exempts Benevolent Association and was active on their ice hockey team. He also marched in Hicksville’s Labor Day parade annually and worked as a part-time construction contractor. Terry married his sweetheart, Nora Hoffman, in 1985, and they had two children together, Terrence Joseph “T.J.” and Rebecca. When joining the FDNY, Terry had his blood tested to screen for potential bone marrow donors. In 1993, Terry found out that his blood matched a little girl in Nevada, Chantnyl Peterson, who was dying from the blood cancer T-cell lymphoma and in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant. Terry made the heroic decision to undergo the painful process of bone marrow extraction and saved Chantnyl’s life with the bone marrow transplant. A year after the transplant, Chantnyl was cured. Her family flew to New York City to meet Terry, and they had lunch together at the World Trade Center. In October of 2001, her family flew to New York again for Terry’s funeral, where Chantnyl spoke of her gratefulness to him. Terry was described by his friends and family as generous, giving, loving, and caring.

Terry worked as a firefighter for the FDNY, Rescue 4. He joined the FDNY in 1989 and was assigned to Rescue 4 in October of 1995. On the morning of September 11, 2001, Terrence responded to the disaster at the World Trade Center, bravely entering the Twin Towers to help and rescue the injured and trapped civilians inside the buildings. Sadly, Terry was killed in the line of duty that day, along with five other members of Rescue 4. Their heroic bravery and ultimate sacrifice is forever honored, appreciated, and remembered. Terry’s life, love, service, and legacy are never forgotten.

"August 4th
David Vera, 41 years old, South Tower 84th floor

David Vera was born on August 4, 1960 in the Bronx, NY. He lived in Brooklyn, NY. David had a daughter, Jennica, who was 18 years old at the time of David’s passing. David was very close to and protective of Jennica. Their saying to each other was “I love you twice as much as anything you could say, universe, infinity, and beyond the galaxies to the fifth dimension.” When Jennica would go out on dates with boys, David would have her date clasp his keys before they left so that he had a copy of his fingerprints. Jennica said, “He was very overprotective. He would always say he trusted me, but he didn’t trust the world.” David also had a son, David John, who went by DJ and was college-aged at the time of David’s passing. David made a point to stay in shape, exercising daily and spending his Saturdays playing pickup basketball in Park Slope. David’s longtime friend, Eddie Claudio, said, “He wasn't too much of a dribbler, but if you left him alone he'd burn you. He was a go-to guy. The type of guy that if you needed help, he was there in clinch time.”

David worked as a senior telecommunications technician for Euro Brokers on the 84th floor of the World Trade Center’s South Tower. On the morning of September 11, 2001, David was working on the 84th floor of the South Tower when Flight 11 struck the North Tower. An announcement over the PA system said, “Building Two is secure. There is no need to evacuate Building Two,” so David stayed on the floor and continued to work. At 9:03 a.m., David was working on the 84th floor when Flight 175 struck the South Tower. He began trying to evacuate with his co-workers at Euro Brokers, Bobby Coll, Kevin York, Brian Clark, and Ron DiFrancesco, carrying a walkie-talkie with him as he went. They started down Stairway A, the only viable stairway in the South Tower from the point of impact and above, and ran into two people, a man and a woman, on the 81st floor that had come up from the 80th floor due to the smoky conditions. The woman said, “Stop, stop, you’ve got to go up. You've got to go up. You can't go down. There is too much smoke and flames below,” and Brian disagreed, insisting they should go down. He then heard a voice calling for help from underneath debris, a worker named Stanley Praimnath who had been trapped underneath debris. Brian and Ron left the situation and rescued Stanley while Bobby and Kevin took a hand under each elbow of the women and started up the stairs, while David followed behind them with a walkie-talkie. Brian, Ron, and Stanley all managed to escape the South Tower, accounting for three of the eighteen to survive from within or above the South Tower’s impact zone. Ron was the last person to escape the South Tower before its collapse at 9:59 a.m. Sadly, David, Bobby, and Kevin were still inside the South Tower upon its collapse and did not survive the attack. Though their lives were unfairly taken on September 11th, David, Bobby, and Kevin are never forgotten. David’s life, love, accomplishments, and memories are forever cherished and remembered.

Catherine was known to be an exceptionally caring person. Her sisters remembered that she was someone who was always thinking of others and gave without thinking of what she would get in return. Catherine was active in her church, St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, and was a member of the choir there. After church services every Sunday, she would wait for an old man to help him walk down the steps of the church. On September 10th, Catherine’s parents were returning home from a senior citizens’ bus outing to Atlantic City, and they had a habit of always having a cup of coffee as soon as they got in the door. However, this time, the electricity was out, so Catherine went to Dunkin’ Donuts to have coffees waiting for them. The next morning, she got ready for another day of work at the World Trade Center.
