Here are the ceremony tips for a successful wedding ceremony:

1. Seat assignments: show family members, especially those walking down the aisle, their assigned seats.

2. Processional: practice the pace at which everyone should walk down the aisle, so no one is racing down the aisle, especially the bride.

3. The giveaway: practice the vision as to how the bride is given away to the groom and what happens next. I usually practice that 3 times if the couple decides to include the giveaway as part of the ceremony. Usually the dads, or whomever is escorting the bride, needs to practice it that many times.

4. Hand placement for the groomsmen: so they can all look uniform at the altar and for pictures.

5. Bridesmaids’ bouquets: they should all hold it by the belly button. For the groomsmen, for uniformity left hand over right hand.

6. Bridal bouquet: practice handing it out to your MOH and getting back from her before the recessional.

7. Fluffing gown/train: let her know when and how you want it don, especially if you are moving to a u you table, for exemple, during the ceremony.

8. Ceremony sequence of order: just to make sure you and the officiant are on the same page and everyone knows what to expect and who should do what when.

9. Rings: who will have them and when should they hand them out to the officiant.

10. Vows: who will have them, when should they be handed out and what happens to them when done with that part of the ceremony.

11. Officiant stepping out of the way for the kiss at the altar

12. Practice the couple’s recessional: practice where/how the kiss and dip will happen down the aisle

13. Practice the wedding party/family recessional: Tell your wedding party to recess after done kissing. Family members should know in which order they should recess.

14. Post ceremony instructions for wedding party/family: each group should know where to go after the ceremony

15. Post Ceremony instructions to guests: the officiant should instruct guests to go to the cocktail hour.
