What an honor to produce Catholic Extension’s Inaugural Spirit of Francis Award Dinner at the The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C. a few weeks ago. The evening honored Sr. Carol Keehan, a Daughter of Charity and a trailblazing health equity advocate that has spent the last 50 years working to advance the plight of our nation’s poor and their struggle to access and maintain comprehensive health care.
In attendance, were Cardinal Gregory Wilton, Archbishop of Washington, Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago and CE’s Chancellor, and Apostolic Nuncio to the US, Archbishop Christophe Pierre who delivered a special message from His Holiness, Pope Francis congratulating Sr. Carol.
Working inside The Library of Congress was a unique experience and a nail-biter. It’s open to the public until 5 pm and your guests are walking in the door in exactly 60 minutes. Cue having some AMAZING event partners who made some magic happen on this quick flip. Thank you to the amazing team at The Library of Congress Susan Gage Caterers, , , , for making it happen so beautifully!
