A big round of applause for Mason Johnson of the East Butler Ramblers! Mason earned Blue Ribbons with his breeding and market heifers—nice accomplishment! Congratulations, Mason!

We love sharing these photos and stories so everyone can appreciate the hard work our 4-H and FFA students continue doing long after the Butler County Fair has ended!

The Boelman boys, Mark and Daniel, made the most of their 4 days at the fair! On Sunday, Mark shared his presentation “How Not to Eat Your Family” and had a photo selected to advance to state. Daniel kept busy too—presenting his Flying Cups Working Exhibit, displaying two static projects, and showing his steer on Wednesday! Congratulations, Mark and Daniel, on all your hard work and accomplishments!

Congratulations Emma Haan! Emma of the Albion Dandy Dozen had a photograph of Tokyo Tower at night advance to the Iowa State Fair! She also participated in the Extemporaneous Speaking activity earning an Excellence in Communications ribbon. Then she topped it off by finding Governor Reynolds!

Way to go, Brooke Daron of the Shell Rock Rockets! She received a Blue Ribbon at the Iowa State Fair for her creative and beautiful pipe cleaner flower bouquet. Who wouldn’t love to receive a bouquet like this?! Congratulations, Brooke!

Congratulations to Brantley Burman of the East Butler Ramblers! At the 4-H/FFA Dairy Goat Show at the Iowa State Fair, Brantley and his 7-year-old doe placed 1st in the Doe in Milk class and 2nd in the Dry Yearling class. Both of his does advanced to the Champion Drive for Grand and Reserve—way to go, Brantley!

Congratulations, Grace Pittenger of the Coldwater Dayton Busy Gophers! Three of her fair projects made it to the Iowa State Fair! Grace earned Blue Ribbons for her creative transformation of Christmas village pieces and for her flag cake with a patriotic surprise inside (check it out below)! She also received a Blue Ribbon for her stunning photo of colorful umbrellas suspended over a street—and on top of that, she earned the prestigious Professional Photographers of Iowa (PPI)) Gallery Award! Out of 645 photography entries, only 20 were selected for this honor, and Grace’s work was showcased in the PPI gallery. Way to go, Grace!

The fair truly runs deep in the hearts of Colby and Eden Wix and their family. 💙 These sisters, of the Jefferson Livewires, showed their lambs at the Iowa State Fair in both the breeding class and showmanship—and both came home with Blue Ribbons! Congratulations Colby and Eden!
