💐 Sharing the flowers is definitely the best part about growing and sharing blooms with everyone.

😊 The joy they bring is the "destination " That's what it's all about and makes the hard stuff worth it!

Some of the hard stuff-
🥵 Behind the scenes is time spent in the field, usually drenched in sweat, smacking skeeters, lifting, squatting, getting filthy and not spending time with family. Daily housework is also no longer "daily." There's a balance that needs to exist 💕 🌼 Im working on it.. and the kinks in my neck 😆

As you know, we've had more than enough 🌧 which is good for some but not other plants. Im losing a lot of dahlias and possibly snapdragons right now. I'm glad they were blooming early so we got to enjoy a lot of them! But squishy tubers means no saving them for next year like I'd planned. Over half the tubers are destroyed but time will tell for sure how many. The video is me inspecting one of the tubers clumps to see if any were firm enough to keep...

🚜 This is farming I suppose!
Sometimes the rails are rickety 🛤
But I believe we'll still get there 💕

A peak at some of our first year peonies. Most plants have no flowers- just leaves, several have 1-2 buds, and even fewer have more than 3 blooms. I expected only foliage this year, so we were stoked to see some pops of color out there! Some people remove the buds the first year to keep energy focused on root development, but I'd read that several had let them flower and still had a mature flourishing plant by year three. I'll snip the seed heads though, for that reason.
