Mic check, mic check… one, two… one, two, three.
Is this thing on?
For years now, people have asked us what we were gonna do with the deck out back at the Pattenburg House. We talked through a hundred different ideas over the years, but nothing ever really felt right.
Until now.
This summer, we’re finally bringing the deck to life with something we think fits this place perfectly.
Introducing MIC CHECK 1 • 2 • 3.
Kicking off Saturday, 5/30, and continuing every Saturday this summer and beyond, the deck opens at 2 p.m. with live music from 2:30 to 5 p.m., cold affordable rotating beers, and a simple wood-fired grill menu built around one idea:
$1 chicken skewers
$2 hot dogs
$3 beef sliders
$3 rotating beer
No crazy cover charges. No giant production. Just a really good afternoon outside with live music, good people, something on the grill, and a place to hang before wherever the rest of your day takes you. Stop by for one beer on the way somewhere else, stay all afternoon, or make it your Saturday ritual. That’s the whole point.
More than anything, this is also a thank you. We know times are expensive. We know people still wanna get out, hear music, see friends, and have somewhere comfortable to land for a few hours without spending a fortune. We wanted to create something affordable, easygoing, and genuinely fun.
And we’re kicking this thing off with a lineup we’re incredibly proud of:
5/30 — Dirty Strings — KICKOFF
An absolute acoustic supergroup featuring James Garabo, Mike Alexander, Luke Youngman, Danny Caruso. If you know these guys individually, you already know what this is about. Powerful musicianship, killer harmonies, deep cuts, surprises, and a full-on acoustic assault in the best possible way.
6/6 — Seven
If you haven’t heard Seven sing yet, you really need to fix that. Fresh off winning the Carnival of the Arts Battle of the Bands, Seven has become one of the true local fixtures around here. Incredible original songs, huge voice, real emotion, and fully part of the Pattenburg family at this point.
6/13 — The Myth & The Legend
Chris Smith and Lolo Gaffney are woven into the fabric of this place. Their chemistry together is effortless, funny, soulful, and authentic. The kind of duo that can make a room completely lock in without ever forcing it.
6/20 — Mike Malinowski & Jeff Ertz
Mike Malinowski of Diamond Eye Jack teams up with Jeff Ertz for an afternoon of seriously high-level musicianship. Two guys who know exactly how to serve songs without overplaying them, with decades of experience between them.
6/27 — Bryan Hansen & Carol Ann Suddeath
Bryan Hansen Band meets Rebellion. Bryan and Carol Ann bring huge vocals, amazing energy, and that classic local music scene chemistry that makes these collaborations so much fun to watch unfold in real time.
And honestly, this is just the beginning.
We plan on keeping this rolling all summer long, into the fall, and who knows… maybe even bringing the whole thing inside this winter if everybody keeps showing up and supporting it.
Outside weather permitting. Inside if not. Grill open every Saturday while supplies last!
We can’t wait to finally fill this space with music.
Let’s go!!!
