Welcome Week starts NOW! 💙⚓️

We’re kicking things off tomorrow with CAB Crafts at the Clock Tower! Come hang out, meet some new Lakers, and get crafty with us. We’ll be making:

🎨 GVSU pennants to decorate your room
🫶 Friendship bracelets with your brand-new GVSU friends
🔑 GVSU keychains

And then…it’s time for one of the BEST weekends of the whole year. Laker Kickoff officially gets the school year started Friday night, and we’ve got a full weekend of Welcome Week fun ahead!

We’re so excited to officially introduce our new Graduate Assistants, Bren and Jadyn! 🎉

You’ll see them helping bring your favorite CAB events to life all year long…from planning behind the scenes to making the magic happen on event day. We can’t wait for you to meet them!

Bren joins us from Eastern Michigan University.
Jadyn joins us from the University of Wisconsin–Oshkosh.

They’re both beginning the HESAA graduate program here at GVSU, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them on the team.

One month from today… we’re taking over Lubbers Stadium for one of our favorite traditions! 🌟

Join us on Saturday, August 29 at 8 PM for Movie on the Field! Grab your friends, spread out a blanket, and enjoy a movie under the stars on the football field. 🏈✨

As we wrap up another incredible year of CAB, we want to celebrate the student leaders who made it all possible 🎉

This team went above and beyond to care for their peers, create meaningful experiences, and bring campus together. Through countless meetings, late nights, event setups, problem-solving sessions, and moments of pure creativity, they helped create experiences that welcomed more than 14,000 students to CAB events this year.

What made this group so special wasn’t just what they accomplished, it was how they did it. Their dedication, energy, laughter, creativity, and genuine care for one another shaped every event, every tradition, and every memory created along the way.

A special shout-out to our Presidents, Malia and Izzy. Your leadership, commitment to your teams, and willingness to do the behind-the-scenes work often unseen by others helped bring countless ideas to life. Thank you for leading with both heart and determination.

We’re also celebrating two incredible Graduate Assistants. Dana has been a cornerstone of CAB for the past two years, and her impact will continue to be felt long after her time with us. She instilled in us the values of both joy & organization- both of whic are necessary for this work. Mady joined us last summer and quickly became indispensable. Her kindness, attention to detail, and willingness to jump in wherever needed made our team stronger every single day. We are so grateful for both of you and will miss your leadership tremendously.

And finally, Allie. For the past three years, you have been an instrumental part of CAB’s story. As you prepare for graduation, we want you to know that your impact is lasting. You leave CAB better than you found it, a legacy few can claim. Thank you for your leadership, your care for others, and the countless ways you’ve helped shape this organization.

To every member, director, president, and graduate assistant who poured themselves into CAB this year: thank you. The events may be over, but the relationships, memories, and impact you’ve created will last far beyond this year. 💙
